We eat out a fair bit and find the best places to take kids is to Asian restaraunts. They are usually loud, cheap and fast with the food. The kids are always well looked after by the staff and always find something to eat between rice and noodles rather than nuggets blah blah. Mess never seems to be an issue for the staff either bless them. We have a few faves in William st Viet Hoa, Good Fortune Roast Duck House & Sparrow.

Have a look at this...

She had some colouring in and we could relax as everyone else had kids too.

We went to Ninniku Jip in Vic Park, has an indoor playground behind a big glass window inside the restaurant so you can see your kids, a bit like a McDonalds or H.J's climbing playground but smaller, playstation set up for older kids, got there for 6.30 and was quite noisy as there were so many families with littlies having early dinners, but by 7.30 it was a lot quieter. Korean/Japanese/Western food, very tasty and good prices. We will go again as no one was worried about toddlers and kids walking around the restaurant, I found I could relax, and they had plastic tumblers already on the tables to cater for kids. The only issue i had was that our 2 year old took her sandals off and her socks were black by the end of the night, so the floor definately needs a good clean !
