Hi there,

Wanting some suggestions for good restaurants...

DH and I are blessed that DH has a generous boss who makes us go out at least once a month on the company

We have been to some wonderful restaurants on the gold coast (many times now!) however would love to discover some other places....

Need somewhere to go tonight. We live out Tamborine/Jimboomba way so we have to trek anywhere we go so as close as possible would be lovely.

The kids come with us so it has to be at least slightly child friendly!

We love all types of food, probably the exception would be Japanese

thanks in advance..

We frequent "Thai Orchid" at Springwood... The food is amazing and its reasonably priced IMO..

We also go to Cactus Jacks at the Loganholme Piazza.. If you like Indian, Dawat Indian is good or there is one on Dennis Road Springwood (behind KFC) that is always really packed..

Hotel HQ at Underwood seems to have decent meals and they have a kids play room with computer games etc..

I was suprised when I went to the Rochedale rovers club in rochedale south as their food was VERY nice. wub.gif My mouth is watering. THey recently got a new chef and the standard is top notch.

A nice place but less family friendly is the underground in Mt gravatt. Admitedly its been a few years since I have been.

Hey Melinda,

if you like Indian try Punjabi Palace in South Brisbane, on Melbourne street , they have the best curries, try the Punjabi Delight , yummmm , my fave palce to eat

Lefkas in westend is also yummo, Greek restaurant but not very kid friendly

I secoind - Thai Orchid at springwood, or an even better option Royal Thai Orchid at Milton, mmmmm

Another vote for Thai Orchid. I read the name and my mouth started watering - mussaman curry...mmmmm.

Monsoons which is the restaurant at the Springwood Hotel is nice too.

Figueiridos in Annerley wub.gif We lived across the road for two years and wuold get takeaway from there regularly. A friend made a stop there specifically for me last Friday night and their curries are as awesome as ever!

It's on the corner of Cracknell Rd and Franklin St next to the pub original.gif There's parking next to the pub parking (behind the restaurant) but beware because Franklin St is one way in the opposite direction (you can't turn into it from Cracknell Rd) and the cops just LOVE to sit there and book people going the wrong way down it dev (6).gif

Hi,

Another vote for Thai Orchid @ Springwood or the Thai Inn @ Loganholme is good too.

If you like Mexican food I think Serranos on George St Beenleigh is the best, the food is fantastic but I have to say the drink service is sometimes slow especially if they are very busy. They are fairly child friendly and have colouring in things available for the kids to do (well I'm sure they did last time I was there). Alot of the time it does pay to make a reservation especially on a Friday & Saturday night, DH & I have just turned up before and have had to wait awhile for a table. ( I guess a busy resturant is a good thing though)

Hope you have a nice night out where ever you go smile1.gif
