Thought I should save us from the second page!!

All is well here, Caleb is now walking everywhere (even if it does resemble ET!!) Ethan is totally jealous and now 'ankle taps' him at every available opportunity!! Had another hospital trip at 1.30am with Ethan last week, he's now officially dx'ed as chronic asthma with CLD (Dr's have varied opinions as to which is the horse and which is the cart in this but either way, at 1.30am I didn't really care!!) We have an appointment at the asthma clinic this week to discuss his care plan.

Simone - we now have to 'cross strap' Ethan in the pram and high chair - he's houdini in disguise that kid!! He complains at the time but has started settling down. Ethan also flatly refuses to allow us to put anything in his mouth (dummy included). I have to offer it in my hand, and then he takes it, inspects it, kills it, inspects it again and then either over arms it onto the floor or eats it!! He also does the clean sweep!!

Kerri - we also have pretty big differences in development (also in size!! Ethan is 13.2kg and Caleb is 9.2kg) Caleb crawled at 7 months and walked at 14 months, Ethan crawled at 12 months and is still to walk. How are the school runs going??

Jo (JoJo4) - hope Callum and Ashlee are back to 100%. How's the pony going?? Do they really keep the grass down or is it a myth?? My luck I'd get a fussy pony!!

Jo (Phezzit) - I'm guessing Finn is now running??!! Hope everyone is well.

Shannon - I'm also quietly hoping that walking will be easier for us!! However at the moment they are walking holding one hand each, getting them to both go in the same direction at the same time is taking a lot of bribery though!! The problem is when I have to 'release' them to catch Lachlan and then assume positions again!! I'm sure it's all sounding very familiar to you!!

Bec - get out of the Under 1's and start posting in here!! tongue.gif You can't stay in denial for much longer!!!

Biting - still haven't found a solution neither!!

Sleeping - still don't!!

Talking - nothing understandable, with the exception of 'whatzat' and 'don't'!!

Hope everyone is well!!

Hello Ladies
I cant belive its been so long wow time flies. We are all good here. The boys are really developing there personalities and let me tell you they are sooooooooooo different. Kayden has discovered the tantrum. Apparently you just scream as loud as you can interposed with the loveliest 'please". at least its a polite tantrum! grin.gif .

Im training the boys to hold on to the car when we are packing.unpacking and getting organised. I saw my sister do this with her kids and it worked a treat. They are slowly getting the drift we just say "touch the car boys" they quite often stand there with both hands on the car. Looks like they are ready for a frisk search...hopefully they will never need the practice at that.

Everyday we are getting new word. Yesterday I gave Jai a little sip of my soft drink, he smacked his lips together and said "ohh nice". I dont know wher he got that from.

I am finding this age full of fun. I dont think I have ever smiled as much in my life. Mind you boy do I get frustrated and need my own time out. I think the winging has doubled in the last couple of weeks.

we are off camping tomorrow. 1 week on the murray. Really looking forward to it. I dont think it will be relaxing tho!!!!!!

Hi everyone,

Just wondered if i can join you all? My girls are 21 mths, so still within 1-2 biggrin.gif

Although i can't believe they will be 2 in may, will be pretty sad about that cry1.gif somehow not babies anymore.

Anyway, we moved to melbourne from UK end of november as hubby got offered a job here so we decided to be adventurous and take up the offer biggrin.gif

We have twin girls and a son who is 3 and has just started 3 yr kinder. After a dodgy he start he is now enjoying it and i can leave him without full-on screaming, so am very relieved.

Am a stay at home mum for the first time ever since moving here and am loving it, although as we have left all our friends behind in the UK and have moved to somewhere where we don't know anyone the need to adult conversation and company is more difficult to fulfill!

Hi all

Welcome Sarah, hope you are settling in well, we must catch up for a coffee somewhere that will take the double prams!!! otherwise hopefully we will see you at playgroup on Fridays.

A quick update on how things are going here - Kai is walking, well he is taking 2-3 steps before laughing and falling down but each day he gets more and more confidence. Noah can now cruise the furniture and best of all has worked out how to get back down again so 'some' of the screams have gone. Both have been really healthy lately(you watch next week they will both be sick...) and Kai has not had any problems with his Asthma for a couple of weeks and is even off all drugs ATM. They also had there check up with the Paediatrician and he thinks one last visit and then we will have no need to go as they are going so well original.gif original.gif original.gif

We are getting so busy here, Briana is 5 today and is at school so now we have to be all dressed fed and out the door by 8.30 every morning and all back in the car again at 3pm add to that everything else that has to be done, makes the week very busy.

Sorry no more personals I am supposed to be getting everything ready for Briana's party on Saturday, why we decided to have 25 5 year olds in the house I am not sure.

I'm still here!! (Probably more in body than mind though wacko.gif !)

Things are o.k here. Caleb is up and walking thank goodness!! I honestly am finding it easier to bribe him to come in my direction than it was to put everything down and go and get him! Ethan is trying very hard and is sooo determined!!

Was wondering if Kerri or anyone could offer some advice. At the moment we are fighting a never ending battle with Ethan and asthma. The weather is playing havoc and we've had two hospital trips this week, bring up a total of 5 for Feb. Dr's are suggesting giving him redipred (steriod) every 2nd day permanently ohmy.gif Now I know I'm paranoid and steriods are not as bad as they used to be, but does that sound right??? Also, everytime we give him redipred, it sends him off his rocker!! The other night he was wetting himself laughing at his hand going past him eyes!! Then when we were at the hospital he was honestly crawling laps around the nurses station singing (guyda guyda guyda!!) I can't live with that!!

Would love any advice, from anyone please!!!

Apart from that, no news here. Mum has had a knee recon so am trying to pamper her a little.

Kerri - happy 5th birthday for Briana!! How is she coping with school? How are you handling your days with only 2 laughing2.gif !!

Sarah - welcome!! Your very brave making that trip!! DH has been offered an amazing position in Dubai and we have been toying with the idea...... maybe him more than me!! How are you finding Melbourne, has been some pretty dramatic weather there lately!!

Paula - we also do the car holding thing. Have done it since Lachlan was little and it's amazing how natural it becomes for them! I also found that it transfered to holding the pram very easily as well. Although, we now have fights as to who gets to touch the fuel tank cover cool.gif

Hope everyone else is well and surviving!
Kerris
Hi all

Well I am sitting here trying to get up to 200 posts so that I can get into the Trading room - should really be sleeping seeing as my 2 will be up by 6.30am and DH is away till Tuesday!!!

Jo Well done to Caleb on up and walking - Kai is starting to take a few steps but Noah is months away

I hope poor Ethan is feeling better. We have tried the Redipred but we (and our GP) feel that is has made no difference other than to send him bonkers. I am also a worrier about constantly being on steroids. Our Pead felt that he should still have it but he only sees him every 3 months and not the weekly trip to the Dr's. Have you been referred to an Asthma clinic or specialist? That was our next job when things got bad again, but thankfully we have had a very quiet Feb - has even trialled coming off his preventer - I dare say he will be back on all puffers by tomorrow night though as they early signs are back. I really hope that you can find what works best for Ethan, it is heartbreaking to see them struggle.

Briana had a great party - was wondering why we had decided to have it at home but was so glad that we did, we all had a great time and all the parents commented on how great it was. Best bit was watching 20 kids line up to eat donuts hanging off string with their hands behind their back.

Having only 2 at home during the day is so different - I wont say good as the hassle to get Briana off to school every morning and the pick up is such a hassle. We all have to be ready to leave at 8.30, so bottles, breaky and dressed in a rush, then load the car, drive the 5km to school, unload walk up a step hill that is only gravel (glad did not get a cheap pram as would not get over the mounds and pot holes), get Briana into class - remind her what she has on today etc and then turn around and get back to car, load up and get home all before the boys fall asleep. Then at 3 turn around and do it all again....

Briana is loving school and I guess for me it is great to have adult contact every day, just got to get the morning routine happening better

Thanks for the advice so far! The Dr that is recommending this approach is the head of paed at Mater. He is also very involved in respiratory research so that was why I was even considering the idea. He has enrolled Ethan into the asthma clinic but they don't really recognise it pre 18months and all their incentive inhalers are for kids a bit older. Because of the age thing we still have all his respiratory appointments through the Paediatric Ambulatory at the hospital. We've had the bronc. scope done and he does have scaring and CLD, but these treatments are purely for the asthma only.

Has anyone found an asthma thread in EB yet?? Is it in special needs, I can't seem to find it!!

DG - we have the easysuits with no legs and I've been finding them fine to get on. They have been really good here for nights because they cover their chests but overly warm. I haven't seen the negative feedback yet, will have to go have a look for a bit of a laugh!!
BTW - Bec came in when the girls' turned 1 and we haven't seen her since... she has been around though!

Kerri - how'd Kai go last night??

Better go and do the motherly things!!
phezzit
Hi everyone,

It's bloody cold down here in Tassie at the mo. We're sitting in front of the fire wondering where summer went!

Both Finn and Wren are walking now. Wren made up her mind to do it in 3 days just before they went back to day care!

Everyone else finding that their little ones are developing their personalities? My two little babies seemed to have suddenly become all grown up and are wanting their independence with the little things, like holding their own spoons and bowls and not holding mummies hand to walk around the house sometimes.

Three~Blue~Ones - You poor bugger! It must be very tiring and worrying with Ethan's asthma. The current medication sounds dodgy. Re. the steroids; I was on them for ages (due to auto immune disease) and my specialist wanted me off them as soon as possible. I'd go with your gut on the steroid issue, I don't think I'd want my kids on them either for any extended periods.

Simone - I know what you mean about the language. It's hilarious. I often wonder what they're saying to each other, especially when they yell out to each other from another room. I've found that Wren is picking up new words faster than Finn (mind you, they're forgotten 30 seconds later!).

My goodness! How many teeth? My kids have hardly any! Well, Finn has 8 and Wren has 7 at the moment, but I think that there's some more in the pipeline for Finn as his gums are looking a bit inflamed this morning.

Wonder if the biting is a boy thing? Finn bites when he's tired or frustrated, but Wren doesn't at all.

Kerris - The doughnuts on strings sound like a funny sight! Glad it was a great day.

Jo

Hi all

Hope everyone has had a good few weeks

Simone - we love the easysuits - Noah is so quick at getting out of the wondersuits at night. Thankfully we are heading into school holidays soon so 2 weeks of no school runs original.gif original.gif
Glad to hear that the biting is starting to settle down, we are just starting, Discovered 3 bite marks on Kai's arm yesterday!!! and Noah is forever trying to bite us, am really hoping it is because he is teething (I can only hope). I can believe how many teeth they have, ours only have 6 each which means that we have some long nights ahead of us for quite a while yet.

ThreeBlueOnes - How is Ethan's Asthma going - hope it has settled down for a while. Both our boys have CLD so they are hoping that once they grow out of this (usually by about 8) they will grow out of their Asthma. I have not seen an Asthma thread - would be interested to see how others are getting on and if they have any advice, not sure if it should be in the SN section or illness and allergy?

Jo - Hope you have had some warmer weather over the past couple of weeks - we have had a few hot days but has settled down again before another few days over 35 - thank god for the air conditioner.

Here we have not had the best few weeks - both boys have been in hospital with Asthma - thankfully at the same time or I am not sure how I would have managed. They are not willing to diagnose Noah as an Asthmatic but at the moment he has the symptoms and needs to have a few more episodes before an official diagnosis!!! His CLD does not seem as bad as Kai's but is having heaps of issue's with his sinus' - so he is on a daily steroid to see if it will make a difference. Poor Kai in hospital was going insane - after the redipred had kicked in he had so much energy but no were to use it. He is still not walking anh he was not allowed to crawl around the ward, only in the playroom which he grew bore of very quickly. He was so excited to get home. Everyone else in the house has been sick as well, hopefully now we are on the tail end of it now - I really need a few nights with decent sleep.

Kai is almost walking now - by the days end can take 5-6 steps to where ever he wants but each morning is like groundhog day and has to remember how to walk again. Noah is still ages away from walking yet.

Well had best go, boys should be sleeping, instead I have one on my lap and the other hopefully now asleep

Take Care

Well had to go looking for this thread deep in the dungeons!!

Was wondering if there is still anyone in here?? Surely Ethan and Caleb aren't the only 1-2 year old twins on EB!! laughing2.gif
Kerris
We're here too

How is Ethan's Asthma going - Kai's has been pretty stable for the past few weeks - still sounds horrible but that is just him I think

Kerri
Que Sera Sera
Hi Kerri!! Glad there is atleast two of us!! Does that make us elite....or something else unsure.gif !!!

Touching lots of wood - but, Ethan's asthma seems to be almost "managed"!!! We've upped the flixotide and he seems to be responding!! He had the cold that was going around a couple of weeks ago, of course he caught it and he suffered more than the other two, but we avoided hospital!! ddance.gif I was also pretty quick to jump on the redipred so any luck, and we might be able go back to "normal" respiratory appointments!!!

How's Kai going?? Does he always have a wheeze?? Ethan seems to always have it, just not suffer iykwim?? If I take him to the GP they always comment on it!!

Apart from that, we are all well!! Boys are into anything and everything - very, very different little men that I question whether they are related, let alone twins!!

Jo (Phezzit) are you still around?? Punkyno9 have you graduated?? Congratulations on making it to the terrible two's biggrin.gif !!!

Thought I would pop in and join you.

My boys (Joshua and Kalan) are 14 months old.

They are not walking yet, but have both taken a few steps.

Kalan says alot of words and questions (what's that, who's that and what's that noise).

Joshie is my sweet sweet boy who loves to be cuddled.

I have not gone back to work full time. I do 12 hours a week tutoring English (I was previously a high school teacher) in the evening. DH and a mother's helper looks after the boys during those hours. Some days I would love to be at work more to get a break.

We have also been through the merry go round of colds and have avoided hospital again which was great. I have even gone back to work 2 days a week and the boys go to childcare and are coping OK. Kai's has a constant moist breathing which scares some of the Dr's and they want to send him straight to Emergency but his regular GP's are great.

Noah is not yet walking - he can stand holding on to things but does not really like to cruise the furniture and gets really cranky when you try and walk with him, will give him a bit longer before getting our Pead to check him out again.

Our boys are also into everything and Kai loves to climb on and into anything - will have to post some photo's later of him getting into the cupboard.

My two look nothing alike as well - am sick of being asked if they are twins or not.

Well had best go - boys are supposed to be sleeping but there is too much 'talking' going on

Hope everyone has a great day

Kerri

Hi ladies waves.gif

Wondered where this thread had gone laughing2.gif My two LO's are 11 months old today so I will be joining you in a month original.gif As will Marnie (her boys were born the same day as my two) and I think Tilly and a few others too. You won't be lonely for much longer original.gif

Hello from me too biggrin.gif! My little ones will be turning one in about three weeks ohmy.gif ... OMG where did THAT year go blink.gif?

As our groups all seem to be pretty quiet, there has been talk in the Multiples Under One group of merging the buddy groups into one big group of mums of multiples. What do you ladies think? Any suggestions for a name?

cool.gif Tilly
Kerris
I think that is a great idea - have no idea on a name though
Que Sera Sera
I'm happy to go along with name change, merges, etc. It appears that a few of us managed to have twins during the great EB twin drought!! tongue.gif

As for a name, might leave that up to the more creative ones!!

We're still going well (touch wood!!) The boys all had hair cuts yesterday which has made them all look so grown up!! Will post a pic as soon as I get the camera out, charge the battery, etc!!

The boys' latest antics are "stacks on"!! As soon as one boy looks like bending his knees, the other runs as fast as they can with the head down to barrel the other over! This is all fun and games ofcourse until someone eventually needs rescuing!!
ktmac
A big hello to everyone!

I have b/g twins, 23 months old, Ava and Franco. I've only recently found this site, and I have to say it has a wonderful multiples section grin.gif

my guys were born at 37 weeks, em c-section (pre eclampsia)

Franco has been my 'sick' child... so far he's had a hernia repair, ezcema, grommets, asthma (although we're off all meds atm, hasn't even had ventolin for a couple of weeks - yay!) and a very nasty case of perioral dermatitis, which we're still trying to get under control.

Ava is bulletproof - nothing seems to get her down, and she is in the process of dropping her day nap - bugger! she's quite advanced with reading, numbers etc, and is the best tantrum chucker in the world...

Me? Well, I'm 35, and DH and I have our own business, which I have just gone back to work one day a week at...

hope this finds you all well, and I look forward to chatting cool.gif

Kate
Que Sera Sera
Well that's the last time I come in here and brag that we're all healthy cry1.gif a quick trip in an ambulance on Tuesday night and 24 hours in hospital has soon shut me up!!!! As usual, 2 words....Ethan and Asthma!! Little blighter gave me a scare though whilst in transit and stopped breathing on us, he self corrected fine, but it definately got the heart going!! His 02 sats wouldn't go over 80% for over 4 hours, so we are now back to drawing board cry1.gif

Hi Kate and welcome!! Sounds like Franco has been giving you some heartache as well. We've found that it's made our "non-sick" twin very easy going and accepts things very easily, has this been the case with Ava as well? As for daysleeps - I plan to keep mine going down for as long as possible!! I don't mind if they go to school needing one!! cool.gif

So, has there been any decision made?? Are we merging into one group?? I keep seeing the title of the Under 1's group staying the same and can't justify myself to even go in there and intrude!! Ahh, the memories though!! laughing2.gif

Hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day this Sunday!! Somehow I have a rotten feeling I'm not going to be getting a lot of "rest"!!!
Kerris
That must have been very scary watching Ethan go through that - hope he is on the road to recovery again.

Here we are again all down with colds but so far the boys seemed to have managed with just ventolin.

Day sleeps are becoming a real issue here - ATM they both still have 2 but trying to get them back down again in the afternoon can be a real fight - especially when I have to pick up DD from school between 3-4pm. I was thinking of trying to get them down to one sleep a day but the problem is that they are ready to go down by 9.30 each morning - have tried hanging them out to later but they are just so cranky its not worth it. What does everyone else do for sleep.

Talk soon

Kerri
Que Sera Sera
Hi Kerri,

My two have been on 1 day sleep for a while now and it does take a big chunk out of the day, but allows me to still have the morning and the afternoon to achieve something (sometimes!!) When we moved from 2 sleeps to 1, I started trying to stir the boys earlier from their morning sleep (with Lachlan around, it wasn't hard to get them to stir tongue.gif ) So essentially their morning sleep was a lot shorter and encouraged them to have their "big" sleep later- I gradually moved this sleep earlier as they needed it. Then once I made the decision to go to one, we filled our mornings with lots of activity to try to keep them awake for the morning (there were many trips home from the park in the car when we were all singing nursery rhymes to try and keep the twins awake!!) Then they just got used to going down at 12.30 and sleeping for 2-3 hours. I'm not sure if this was good management, or good luck - but it somehow worked!!

Hope the household is fighting fit soon, Ethan is back to doing really well so hopefully that episode is over and finished!!
