I haven't watched the show for a long time, but happened to tune in yesterday to find that Rick and Phoebe are a couple. Now last time I watched Phoebe was the daughter of Taylor and Ridge, and Rick is the son of Brooke and Eric. Now if Eric is Ridges dad, then doesn't that make Rick Phoebes uncle?!?!

I know this show is ridiculous, but surely they are not condoning incest (or are they just assuming the viewers will forget the obvious genetics?!?!).

Ridge is not Eric's son though, so technically they aren't uncle and niece.

Rick is Eric's son but Ridge is Mossimo's son but was brought up by Eric so Rick and Phoebe technically are not related at all.

I am a long time part time viewer but you just have to look at the past storylines regarding 'condoning incest'. Rick's mother Brooke is a fine example. She is in and out of bed with Ridge, then she moved onto his father and had Rick & Bridget to him ... then fluffed about with Ridge again, had some kids with him sometime ... then she fluttered her eyelashes at Ridge's brother Thorne for a while. Then there was Nick, then Ridge again.... I've lost count on how many kids she actually has! Then there is her own daughter Bridget who got it together with her Mommie's ex in Nick ...

Now the next generation is copying Brooke....

The most distrubing thing of all this is the new Rick's hair do .... GET ME SOME SCISSORS or send the actor back to Salam where he came from (ex-Brady from DOOLS!)! And why has Ashley suddenly popped up from Y&R???

She is with Ridge
Then marries his (acting) father (Eric)and has 2 kids
Then goes back to Ridge
Then moves onto Deacon (her daughter's husband) and has 1 child
Then onto Thorne (Eric's real son)
Then onto Nick (Her Daughter's 2nd husband)
Then back to Ridge (and has another child)

She needs to get a life!

I just don't get how quickly the kids age. Rick was a fair age when Phoebe was born, an it seems as though he hasnt aged.

Stephanie and Mossimo were at one stage together which is when they had Ridge. Ridge just calls Eric dad as he was brought up by him. Thats why lately when Rick and Ridge have been fighting while at the company, Rick says Eric is my dad not yours !!!

I know!! Incest is one thing (and like OP thought the same thing until I was reminded about Mosimo, ta, phew!) but they expect me to believe that when Phoebe and co reached 18 overnight, Brooke and Taylor still look the same as they did at the beginning of the series?!?

I watch B&B about once every, hmmm, 8 months? I never miss a beat! Talk about labouring a point!

Is it me or does Taylor look like she's had work done? I used to think she was just gorgeous, but I think the actress who plays Brooke has aged much better.

I caught it yesterday for the first time in months and months.... How great does Brooke look and Taylor is out of control with the lip thing! It looks like one of the crew smashes her in the mouth with a lump of 4 x 2 prior to her scenes. How on earth can she think she looks attractive with all that botox?? That said IRL she's had 5 kids so push comes to shove & lips aside, she still does look kinda fabulous.

It's just SUCH a tragic show......think I might set my phone to ping me at 4.25 this arvo and sit down for a laugh.

The show is off the rails.
Taylor came back from the dead dont forget.
I watched the show one week and the kids were kids and the next week they were adults
It wont be long before the kids are older than their parents.

Don't forget that Taylor was in a coma for years. Maybe she swelled during that time




They have just mentioned that Rick is 10 years older than Phoebe. They can't make him too old otherwise it would make Brooke be really old

There has often been cross-overs between Days, Y&R and B&B over the years - more-so seen with Y&R and B&B cos they are produced by the same company - ashley has been on days before YEARS ago (mother used to watch it when we were kids), and there has been cross-overs between vicor neumans character, lauren, shiela etc...

I havent seen any of these shows for years, but caught 10 mins of one in the doctors surgery about a month ago and it was all the same characters and not much had changed at all!

Well in them mentioning that rick is meant to be 10years older than Phoebe is what I'm getting at - When those twins were born wasnt that when Rick and Amber were raising little Eric?

I love watching B&B when I go to Perth coz no matter how long it's been since I saw it last, I can STILL pick up the storyline within 5 minutes.

Even after being in UK for 1 1/2years I could STILL work out who was with who or what'd happened...

I do find the whole Pheobe/Rick thing a little tedious though. I didn't think the twins were that old...

Yes, you are correct. When Bridget found out that Ridge was Mossimo's son and not Eric's son, she realised that she wasn't Ridge's half sister after all and she then had a thing for him and there was a tiny fling, but it didn't last.

This thread has cracked me up as I'm a Bold addict, but I do admit it has the silliest story lines when you type them out in black and white.

I started watching Bold when I was studying for my TEE in 1988 (yes, I'm old ) and it was partnered at that time by Santa Barbara, so I had my hour's break for lunch with my soapy fix.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't there been 3 blokes who've played Thorne? I'd love to know how many other characters have had multiple actors. And how many have returned from the dead? I can think of Taylor (love those lips ) and Macey. There must be others surely, as we are talking about the soap to end all soaps!!!!

They cross over sometimes apparently as they are produced by the same company

I was pregnant with my eldest ds the same time Brooke was pregnant with Rick. Now my ds is 16 but Rick is a whole lot older.

I don't get to watch this much anymore, but I love total escapist trashy tv, and this is the best example

I have always been a Brooke fan and I agree she is aging far better than Taylor. Brooke has quite a few kids irl too I think. Isn't they why they wrote in the pregnancy to Deacon because she was pregnant again irl??
