YAY ... DS will be so excited when I tell him. Now will have to make sure that we get tickets (checking the On Sale date to make sure).
Thanks for the heads up!!!

ETA - from the ticketek website - on sale "Tue 12 Jun 2007 9:00AM (AEST)"

Yay!

Now just to convince DF that he has to come too - i am not taking 3 kids on my own! Imagine that.. OMG!

Was it the wiggles that came last week? Or was that just dorothy's dance party? I was sure someone said it was the wiggles?
It must have been all those e-mails i sent

lol - we travelled to sydney for their last concert, such a long trip for half an hour! BUT well worth it too lol - they are fabulous and so down to earth!

It was the Dorothy Dance Party Han. DD went with MIL, and has been telling me 'with Nan' everytime she sees Dorothy and the others.

Oh Yay!! Another one here who sent emails to them. I am very glad to see the message got through that we do want to see the Wiggles in Canberra!

I emailed The Wiggles a heap about their lack of a visit to Canberra ... seems like all of us unknowingly banded together and convinced them that they do have fans here.
So what time is everyone going to try for - 10am or 1pm?

DD turns one in Dec. Is that too young do you think? She already loves watching their DVD's!

one is not to young what a good birthday gift i know i'm going as hannah is two in dec

16/05/2007, 01:59 PM
purpleoj, if she turns 1 after the date of their show then she'll get in for free (and you'll only have to pay for yourself). I had an opportunity to take DS when he was 1yo but didn't and have regretted it ever since as he would have loved watching them (from the safety of my lap no doubt).

16/05/2007, 02:00 PM

Thanks for that gollygar, she will already be one though. Do you know how much tickets are?
gollygar
16/05/2007, 02:25 PM
A Reserve tickets are $30 and B Reserve are $25.

16/05/2007, 02:35 PM
Purpleoj given that your DD is small for age I would just buy the one ticket

. They dont actually ask or anything
gollygar
16/05/2007, 02:46 PM
I agree with Carol ... if your DD looks under 1yo then don't worry about a ticket. They're hardly going to ask you for a birth certificate at the door and more than likely she'll be sitting on your lap for the show anyway.
BTW we'll be trying for the 10am show ... DS won't be so tired that time of the morning (he can have an afternoon nap if he's worn out and be right as rain for dinner).
~strawberry~
16/05/2007, 02:50 PM
Carol - I like your way of thinking! I'll be there, probably aiming for the morning show.

16/05/2007, 02:53 PM
YAH! Thanks for the info!
I won't be paying for DD#2 either and she turns one a few weeks before the concert.
I paid for DD1 to see Hi-Five at 16 months and it was such a waste as she sat on my lap the whole time anyway.
When I took her she wasn't walking yet and the guy was surprised I had a ticket for her. He said they don't even ask if a child isn't walking yet.
I think it should be under 18 mths free, but that's just my opinion.

16/05/2007, 02:59 PM
Remember that you cant take prams into the venue at all. When I took my 2 last time they came I wore Brielle in a Hugabub, that way who would know even if they are walking

. You can always take them out of the carrier once you are inside if either of you are uncomfy.

16/05/2007, 03:01 PM
After our Hi-5 fiasco I dont know If I should take Maddy. I might buy the tickets and ask her as it gets closer (she will be 3 and a half then). I guess I could always sell them if she decided she didnt want to go.

Good idea Shelly. I will have to brain storm with you before the tickets come on sale so that we can get tickets together.

Savannah will be 5 by then, do you think the concert will be too young for her?

I'll try for the 10am show too. Have put it i my diary. Hi-5 was a disaster with DH last year, but both boys have been to a few more shows in parks etc since then and have more of an idea what's going on. I often get away with Shea being under 3 still

16/05/2007, 07:59 PM
I dont think it is fair to steal from The Wiggles, if your child is 1 a day or a month before the show - you should pay.
They wont come back and that would kinda suck.
~NatB~
16/05/2007, 08:26 PM
Last day of school will be either the thursday 20th or Friday 21st of Dec. Not sure I could handle 3 kids on my own so will have to have a think.

I know someone who'll be pretty happy about this!!
Thanks ladies

But now I can't see it on the Ticketek website or the Wiggles website. What am I doing wrong?
gollygar
16/05/2007, 09:31 PM
Just do a search at the top for "The Wiggles" ... the result will show both Melbourne and Canberra.
HTH.

I'm having trouble too trying to find the details. My Ticketek search only shows Melbourne.
What's the trick, ladies???

look on the drop down selection for location ...

eta - i know what u mean now - they've changed it since i last went in a couple of hours ago.

16/05/2007, 09:41 PM
Hmmm...do you think someone from Ticketek made an early release mistake? You heard it first on the ACT Boards!!!
At least we an all pencil in the ticket sales and the conert dates before anyone else!!

I would say it was a mistake ... a good one for us.

It's not exactly stealing if they're not taking up a seat.
I paid for a seat for dd when she was just one- which was a total waste of money cause she didn't use it -she wanted to be on my lap.

I missed the last time The Wiggles came to Canberra (was off protesting at a single father's conference

while the ex took DS because he didn't buy Me a ticket too) and after 3 years of non-stop music I reckon it's time to see them in person!

Um, given that when I announced the Wiggles forthcoming Canberra concert at the dinner table last night *all* of my children wanted to go, I'd say not too old at all
