I went for a PS job interview 4 weeks ago (18th of April). The lady running the interview said that she was hoping to finalise things in 2-3 weeks. On the 4th of May I had my referee reports emailed to me (as I hadnt seen them) by someone sitting on the interview panel. I took that as a sign they were still processing applicants.
So here I am - desperate after 4 weeks to find out how I went.
Would it be rude of me to call and see how things are progressing or could I come off as pushy? I am worried they are about to make the final decision and my phone call will put me in the NO pile LOL
Have you ever called after an interview? Did you get a positve response?

Definitely not rude to follow up ... they'll probably take it as a sign that you are still very much interested in the position.
Good luck.

ETA yes I did call about a position many years ago and ended up with it.

Shelly - I would definitely call too. I don't think its pushy - it just makes you seem keen and it helps to jog their memory of you too.
I hope you get it!!!

I'd call - and have done so before and got the job! I don't think its being pushy to do it - it would be if you called every other day, which i've had someone do before but not if its the first time and you limit the calls to one a week.
Good luck! Hope the job is yours!

hi
I've been calling or emailing people if they haven't got back to me when they say they will and I've just asked for an update. It's always been fine, especially with PS jobs when there's always a contact person. I also called the one where I've just got offered the job too, so I don't think it jeopardises your chances, LOL!
TBH, I hate waiting, and so I usually can't help myself, though I would never do it constantly...
Good luck!!

I called - she has just finished up with the APS 4 applications this morning and is just finishing up the 5's now and hopes to have them to the Delegate this arvo.
She said I should hear something middle to late next week.
I am shaking a bit. I bumbled the conversation a little but atleast I know to hold off on my discharge app for another week.
I just want to know because if I have another job soon I will make my discharge date for ASAP LOL if not I will make it for 6 months time - might leave the form for another week just to be sure!
