Woohoo new thread new thread....

Kendall- Your nursery looks great, may prompt me to take pics of mine, but does it count since I already have a bubba in there? Bassinette will be in m room to start with. I can't believe how organised you are already, and how much stuff. Amazing job.
OscarAndTilly
Hi Everyone,

Kendall - Congratulations on finding out you are having a blue bundle. The boys are definately outnumbering the girls in our group! I love your nursery, especially the paint colour. It looks like such a bright and cheery room.

Thanks for the congrats on our boy bubba everyone. Had to laugh I sent my sil the pic of boy bits and told her to guess the sex. Took her a few minutes before it dawned on her and then she said " I didn't think it would look like that on an ultrasound" lol.

He has also been kicking a fair bit since yesterday which is a nice feeling. Mind you he seems to get around as the kicks are all over the place. oh and after my niece saw the ultrasound and bubs head she said " Ooh that's going to hurt" and I said well it's going to get bigger lmao.

Other than the excitement of yesterday nothing much else has been happening. I have been getting some lightheadedness since yesterday so I'm not sure what that's all about. My shoulder is still sore and hurts to lay on it at night which is a right pain in the butt lol.

Anyhow I'd better go talk soon
Loz*Star
Wow guys I go away for a few days and everyone finds out the sex LOL- CONGRATULATIONS to all of you original.gif - it's so exciting that a lot of us know the sex- only a week to go and I will know too original.gif Yayeee...

Kendall- I love the nursery original.gif Looks awesome- you make me feel so slack- I haven't even started a nursery or begun to buy furniture for the baby lol...

Things with me are going well- baby is doing well- lots more movement now- no sickness- just feeling tired and still getting up twice a night to pee...I've had a lot of sharp pains in my tummy lately which a lot of people have told me not to worry about as they are stretching pains so hopefully everything is going good- next Wednesday is my scan too...

Now Im off to go back over the last thread- Im so behind in people's updates LOL..

Hope everyone is having a great night!!

Morning muumies and bumpies,
Ali- the list is looking nice and colourful now.

Anyone brought their car seats yet or know what you are going to get. I need to buy 2, as we use both cars very often.
I'm thinking of the safe and sound compaq deluxe for my car, as it will need to sit next to Daisy's seat, and then one of those safe and sound new AHR ones for the 4wd- they look so nice and cost as much as the 2 car seats already have.

SO apart from Kendall who seems to be completely decked out, how is everyone going? A girl at work 4weeks ahead of me is super organised 2 and basically has every thing- I was never that organised. Once I have the carseats and toddler seat I will only need snazzy boys clothes, I've looked but havent purchased yet.

Hmm I'm full of questions this morning, but those working when do you think you will finish up? I really have no clue, at first I was thinking of 30weeks, but then I hear others at work saying they are going to work until 38, so since I'm only working 12 hours in an office I will feel extremely lazy if I don't work that long too. I usually have the problem of becoming rather massive. With Daisy I finished at 34 weeks, and was greatful, as I could only wear thongs past then, and my belly outgrew my work clothes. The other issue I have is we live 15km out of town now, and 2 of my shifts are night time ones, and these days I'm not a real flash night driver. You know instead of driving 100k/h I sit between 80-95.

Think I actually felt my first kick this morning, yay.

Ok finished my morning waffle, hope everyone has a lovely day.
*kendall*
Hey Mummies & Bubbies original.gif
We have decided to name our little Man Jake.
We will have hubby's Dad's name.... Robert as his middle name as he has passed over.
Anyone else decided on a name yet?

4forme- I'm not sure what car seat we are going to get yet.
I will hopefully work right up till 38 weeks as I have a pretty easy job of sitting in aircon anyway.
How exciting you felt your first kick.
I have had lots of small movements but not a real kick yet.

Lozza- Not long till your scan, how excited you must be original.gif
I am feeling really tired again lately and I'm peeing so much too!

Ali- Thanks for updating the list, it sure does look nice and colourful now.
Can't believe all those bubba boys.

RenaeT- Glad you are feeling some kicks...
Hope your shoulder gets better... just take it easy original.gif

Thanks to everyone who loved the nursery, I go in there every night and just dream of the day when Jakey will be in there too!

Take care all of you xoxo
hugs

Love Kendall & Jake babyboy.gif

Hi Girls,

Yes I'm still around but over Easter had family here from WA so was busy showing them the sights. I can now get back to EB and neglecting the housework haha

Kylie44me - We are gonna hire a capsule for the 1st few months. With TJ we just got the reversible car seat and we kept disturbing her sleep getting her in and out so have decided on the capsule this time around at first.
As for having everything - well we don't need much seeing as we have most of it with TJ but anything extra I won't bother with until the target and kmart toy sales.

Wow look at all the boys on the list. I have no idea, I just don't know. I originally predicted girl but am now thinking maybe boy hahaha. But whatever the sex is we won't be telling this time around. Maybe on EB but not family and non-EB friends.

Kendall - Love the nursery. We are renting so can't do much. In WA we owned and TJ's room was awesome, I really miss it.

Lozza - I'm getting those sharp pains too.

Well I have my scan on Monday at 11.30am so better remind MIL of her babysitting duties. DH can't come with me as someone at his work has suddenly quit and he now has to cover the extra position until they find someone. There was a small chance he'd of been able to make it but not anymore cry1.gif
pipadips
i too am a slack one and done nothingin the way of buying anything for this baby.

We wil be renovating our house when the baby arrives, so we wont actually have a room for the baby to sleep in. I refuse to have the baby in with us because i tried that with our last baby and i lasted 3 nights before wheeling him out. He was just too noisy and i could not get any sleep.

We hired the plastic bassinette on teh wheely thingo for about 3 months, and will do that again, as its so easy to wheel about, and it can also be used as a bath. Also considering poor bubs wont have a room, i can just wheel her/him to a spot in the house for sleeps.

Car seats,
We will probably hire one again for the first 6 months. I found them so much easier, particularly when you wanted to nip up to the shops, and didnt have to wake up baby taking them in and out of the car.

Hi everyone,

4forme - I'm also trying to figure out when to finish work. I work in a lab which means I get to sit down a fair bit to process results, so I'm hoping to be able to work until middle of August. I worked up until a month before due date last time, even though I was the size of a whale and working in retail, but am actually fair bit smaller this time, so we'll see!! I also only work mornings, and have Thurs off now which makes things WAY easier.

Bubbalooee - Poor you, no DH at your scan, i know exactly how you feel, my DF works up north in mines so we only get to see each other every 3rd wk cry1.gif Any wonder I'm addicted to this forum then!! We found out he'd got this job only 2 wks after we found out I was preg, so thought we'd stick it out few months and see what happens as it's a great opportunity, but I HATE IT! rant.gif He feels like he's missing out on so much as well, every time he comes home he can't believe the size of my bump. We have our scan booked for next fri, as he flies home Thurs night, yay! Hope your scan goes well, let us know.

Kendall - We have decided on names but won't find out till next week what we're having. This is what we've chosen -

Jackson Leslie (Leslie is my Dad's name)
Abigail Margaret (Will be called Abbie all the time but
my Mum is Gayle and DF's late Mum is Margaret)

What do you all think????

Anyway, better be off, have to help organise my sister's 30th bday party for Sat night (like I have the energy for anything other than eating and sleeping at the mom)

- Kerrie

Hi,

I thought I might pop in and share what name we're thinking about. I am finding it really hard because we were all set for a girls name but have no idea for a boy. At the moment we both like Caylen as a first name and im pretty happy with that- not 100% sure tho. I would love to use DH name as a middle name but I dont know if I like Caylen Christopher. What do you think? Is it too long? Our sir name is only 4 letters long so its nice and short.

I really want to make this decision soon, i woke up at 6am this morning thinking about it. grrr. Im on holidays, i should be sleeping!!

Love Danielle
p.s DH felt bubby kick for the first time last night...we're were in a car wash of all places but he was kicking up a storm so it was a good opportunity original.gif
pinkplane
DKD - My DF is also Christopher so we scrapped having that as a middle name because our surname is a long irish name, which means the poor kid will spend half his life filling out Jackson Christopher (long surname) on forms - WAY too long. But I love Caylen and seeing as your surname is short, Christopher would work as a middle name.
I also felt bub kick like mad last night. Have been a bit worried as didn't know if what I as feeling was kicks or just my insides grumbling around, but these were def kicks - must of been all the garlic prawns I ate at my sisters birthday dinner blush.gif

Kendall - forgot to mention before that I love the name Jake. Have loved that name since I was preg with DD but DF doesn't agree with me sad.gif

Hi girls!!

I too will be hiring a capsule this time around... I think they are a great idea and wish Id done it with DS too... I rang a company just yesterday actually and was told they are $99 for 6 months hire... and also a bassinet is $88 for 3 months. Im thinking this sounds pretty reasonable? I definately dont want to buy a cradle/bassinet as they are in them for such a short amount of time...

Im not sure when Im going to be finishing work either... with DS I was working fulltime in a job that can at times be quite physically demanding/heavy...and on feet all day -- and I left at about 32 weeks. This time, Im still in the same job, but I only work 2 days a week - BUT, weve moved further away now and it takes me an hour to get there, so thats a big pain. Im hoping I can finish sooner rather than later, thinkgin around the end of June hands.gif

Kendall - I love the name Jake!! Its also great that you and your DH were able to decide on a name you both loved so easily...

Bubbalooee - Good luck with your scan on Monday... what a shame that your DH cant make it, are you fiding out the bubs sex?

Kerrie - Great names... I especially love your girls name. Not too long to go before you know which one it is!

One name we are considering is Madeline Mae - what do you guys think? Our surname also starts with an M though, so Im unsure.. but DH really likes it. Other girl names we like are Ruby and Charlotte... but my family hate the name Charlotte, and Ruby has become so popular lately!

Esther
xxx
maxi-mum
Danielle - I like Caylen Christopher, don't think it's too long. I love double initials for some weird reason, may be because I like things to match! blush.gif

My DP has a family tradition that the first baby gets his name as the middle name and the second gets his dad. This would usually only work with boys but as his name is Andrew we can use Andi for a girl - and with his dad being Peter we can also use Peta. Means we only have to think of first names... for a girl we both like Aneka, and for a boy I love the name Zane - with the predetermined middle names! What do you think?

cheers

Hey all
Havent posted for ages but i have been reading. Glad to hear u are all going pretty good , im sick at the moment with the flu which sucks sad.gif . They have changed my due date as well from the 5/9 to the 15/9 so im right at the end now . I have a feeling bubba will be a boy.

I started the nursery last night still have lots to go but looks pretty good if i do say so myself ( were renting so painting is out for us ) .

We have picked names boy : Logan Ian Charles
girl : Bethany Jade Marie

I like the two middle names .
dna13
I am loving all these name combos at the moment. Well done to you all for being able to choose already. DH & I have decided not to look too hard for names until we know sexes.

I do have a girls name picked which DH does like but we haven't made it official yet lol.

As for car seats, we will be getting DS a Maxi Rider and will be getting 2 SnS Compaq's. We already have a SnS Royal but i think it will be too squishy with 2 Royales and a Maxirider. We will keep the Royale for the 4wd so we don't have to swap every seat over.

With DS, I worked up to 32 weeks and it was perfect. I still could have worked longer but wanted to have some 'Me' time before bubs was born and also get heaps of stuff done.

We haven't bought anything for these 2 yet. We have so much to get but i am waiting on sales because I need to buy 2 cots, another rocker, manchester, pram and the list goes on lol. I figured i might be able to get a lot of that stuff at Target when they have their baby sale.

Good luck to everyone having scans tomorrow. Let's see if we can get a few more girls in here to even things up.

Good Afternoon Everyone biggrin.gif

jadish Don't feel so bad. Your at the back with me original.gif

kendall I'm assuming you've already bought half a tonne of Nappy San to soak Bubby's/Jake's dirty clothes in as well as setting up the entire nursery? wink.gif

Kylie44me I'm with Bubbalooee on the car seat. I've spoken to a few friends who've just had their first and they've said that the hired capsules are a God send as you don't have to wake bubby up to get them out of the car and if you go over a friends place you can just leave them in the capsule for a nap.

My news I've been away at a church easter camp which was lovely. Caught up with heaps of old friends. One of which has a 6 month old son (born at the end of September). So I got to have lots of cuddles (with Cooper) and chat's (with Copper's mum) about breast feeding and stuff which was great (she was really encouraging). And one of the girls in my dorm is a week ahead of me so we got to have a bit of a chat as well. And I got my first real kick on Sunday afternoon, then I had two kicks on Tuesday night, three on Wednesday morning and a few that night and heaps today! I didn't realise that it would start so early, but I don't mind biggrin.gif DH is really excited too, hopefully it wont be too long before he can feel them too!

babyboy.gif Congratulations babygirl.gif to everyone who has found out what they're having and either way they're both a blessing in any family
~Daisy~
Hi girls,

How are we all? I'm okay. A bit knackered actually. Training this girl is hard work and I have a sore throat tonight so might be a bit run down and getting something. Only have half a day tomorrow though up at Port DOuglas then I am giving her an early mark as I have my scan at 2:30!! Yipee!!! I can feel bubba kicking heaps now too. Does it feel like a muscle twitching in your belly for all of you?? It's a weird feeling hey? He/she is doing it right now actually as I type. I love it. It's so reassuring isn't it.

DH is desperate to find out the sex but I don't know what to do! Most of you all know what you are having but I just don't know. I will wait until tomorrow I guess and if he/she offers us I will just see what comes out of my mouth first.

Okay a bit of personal time:

Kendall - I LOVE your nursery! I showed DH and he goes "see that's why we should find out the sex so we can do all that aswell". It looks gorgeous and I can't wait to move and do my bubba's room up too in god know's what colour in case we don't find out the sex!!!

4forme - I am lucky to be finsihing work at 22 weeks. V spoilt. Have no idea how long I would have gone for if we weren't leaving though. I'd say maybe another 6 weeks after that then I would be knackered from going away every second week. I am going to hire a capsule - I think it's a great idea.

Names:
babyboy.gif Cooper Jackson
babygirl.gif Ella Jasmine

We have a nice surname starting with B so we think they sound nice (that's all that matters real isn't it - names are such a personal thing).

Anyway am off for a shower then might jump into bed. Will post tomorrow after my scan and see if I can get some pictures downloaded.

take care all,

Love Rhonda and the little kicker!

IT'S A BOY!!!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

No mistaking it when I saw that little extra bit on the screen today! original.gif We're stoked! Two boys with a close age gap is great and I think boys are awesome. Our second little man is happy and healthy too which is the main thing! I'm a tiny bit sad it's not a girl - but then stoked it's a boy. wierd. wacko.gif .....now DH and I are arguing over names! rolleyes.gif All we know for sure is the middle name will be Paul (DH's name).

Turns out my bestfriend is also having a boy - along with 3 of her friends and one of mine all due in the same month....something to be said about all the boys being made!
I can't remember if I've said it before but in my mums group we have 8 boys and only 2 girls...and all the second round bubs so far have been boys too!

Rhonda, love the names! I bet you're having a boy! tongue.gif

motorcyclemummy, glad your camp went well and congrats on your kicks! Isn't it the best?

dna13, I'm getting DS a maxi rider as well and the bub can have his convertible carseat until it's big enough for it's own maxi rider. They do look big though and I worry a third person might not fit in the back.. mellow.gif ...think I'll just haveto keep begging DH for a new car..I really want a ford territory! hands.gif

Forgot who it was who posted the nursery pic, WOW! That looks great...you're so organised! We've just had to fork out for a new washing machine so have put off our big baby purchases but I can't wait...I've already got it all picked out!

Jadish, bugger about your dates! mad.gif Who knows though baby might decide to come a week early anyhow! But it can feel like forever though.

Take care ladies!

Hey All,
Congratulations to all who have found out what they are having! It's very exciting! I have another scan in a week so hope to be able to find out what I'm having too. Goodluck to all those with upcoming scans too.

Kendall - Yah, you got to find out and your prediction was spot on! Congrats! I love your nursery you really are so organised!

Jadish - I love your names, I especially like Bethany Jade as that was a name I had picked if I had a girl in my first pregnancy. Since then a friend of ours has used the name Bethany so if I have a girl this time I won't use it, but still like Jade for a middle name.

I'd wanted to do more personals but time is getting away from me so had better get a move on. Will try and get back later. Have a nice day all.

Hey all

Lots and lots of boys .
Would you believe i cant find a nice a set of draws in a dark wood for under 500 , grr serves me right being picky wanting a dark wood cot .
so nice to hear bout all the kicks im not sure if im feeling kicks at the moment its all really wierd though bub does have a lot to kick through .
Thanks to all the positive feedback bout the names . We like bethany because we liked beth - kiss song hehe yes if shei s a girl she will be named after a kiss song.
dna13
Tara-Nicole- Congratulations on finding out that you are expecting another little boy. biggrin.gif Boys really are great aren't they?? I think i'd be like you and be a bit sad that i didn't have a girl but still so happy that your DS will have a li' brother close to his age. I'm hoping that i will have 1 of each so i don't have to worry about all that lol.

I wish the 27th would hurry up and arrive so that i can have my scan and have my mind put at ease. I am so anxious all of a sudden. Is antone else feeling anxious about bubs??

I have no reason at all to think that there is anything wrong but i guess my hormones are just working overtime lol.
bubba-gt
Congrats to all who have found out about the sex of their baby. I am so jealous but I don't think I can convince my hubby about changing his mind. He really wants the sex to be surprise!

I just came home from work and my back is aching like crazy. I felt like a fragile old lady getting out of the car. It's a 45 min drive so I think all that sitting is doing my back no good. I really should get out there and do some exercise. I was going to join in the exercise group at the hospital but the times and dates are a bit inconvenient. I am thinking of checking out some private centres, maybe yoga or something like that. Does anyone who lives in Sydney have any suggestions?
pinkplane
Been reading up on what everyone's written about car seats, and decided I might get a capsule. We just had a convertible carseat with DD but now that I'm going to have a newborn and a 4 yr old, it might be easier to get a capsule. Plus my sister is due 4 months after me so we're thinking of buying one and going halves, which will be great! Thanks for all the ideas everyone!!

LOVE all the names everyone's picked wub.gif

Congratulations Tara-Nicole!! So many little boys in here!!
You know how you mentioned about feeling tiny bit sad that you weren't having a girl, but excited about a boy? Well I'm getting more and more nervous that I'll be a bit disappointed if we find out we're having another girl.
I know that sounds SO horrible, blush.gif but I'm really getting worried about it.
From the start DF and I have both called this baby 'he' and so has our DD, so we'll get a shock it its another girl. My mum says its natural to want a boy so we have one of each, but I'm going to feel so guilty if I feel even a little bit disappointed. I know I should just be happy that we have a healthy baby, but it's starting to really worry me.
Sorry, rambling on a bit, but it's keeping awake all night cos I really don't want to feel disappointed.
Can anyone help (if you can understand all my ramblings)? I'm starting to think I'm a horrible mother sad.gif

- Kerrie
dna13
Kerrie- Just so you know, it is completely normal to feel like that. I always said i didn't want 2 boys and was worried first time around that i'd be disappointed if i had a boy first. But you know what, I couldn't imagine life any other way.

You will be just fine so don't worry too much about it.

Hi Ladies and Babies original.gif

Have been away visiting parents during school holidays and I have missed catching up with you all!

My Mum lives in Barwon Heads and My Dad lives near Wilsons Prom, so the kids get a good mix of Beach and Bush most holidays and it's nice to spend time with family just doing nothing. I did however sleep for a couple of hours everyday, it's so exhausting growing a person!!

DD and DS had a fun Easter weekend. It's so exciting watching the kids hunt for things in the garden. DS is Lactose Intollerant so this year we did PJ's, Slippers and Dressing Gowns with only a few Eggs. I think DD felt a bit jibbed but happy with all her new bedware so she just sucked it up! I hope this bubba has no allergies, it can make DS life a little bit hard at times.

Kerry; So gald things are looking ok with you bundle of Blue! I hate when 'they' stress you out about nothing. Stay strong and sane!

Capsuals; I have always refrained form a capsual, I was told that if a baby is left in there for too long it can cause damage to their spinal cord because of the curve in the seat. We travel to my parents quite alot (as mentioned above) and I would stress about causing damage that could not be fixed. Anyone else heard info like this?

Names; I love all the names you have chosen so far. Beautiful! I can't wait until next week when I have my scan, to know what names we will be using original.gif

Hope that everone is happy and healthy.

Take Care,

Sarah x

Can't believe how many boys we are having hey! DH was over the moon I must say. He was sure that we were having a girl and he had tears rolling down his cheeks when she told us. I finally got some pics to show you too. She printed them out for me. The 3d ones were not that good as he was lying on his belly with his head down in my cervix and wouldn't take his arms away from his face! Little weasel. All is good though bub very healthy. She did mention my placenta was low and that the OB will probably want another scan at 30 weeks but she said it was fairly common and it's still early.

Here's a few pics. The 3d one's are a bit weird as I said he was in a weird position....

http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p25/Suze29/19weeks.jpg

http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p25/Suz...nfaceandarm.jpg

So we are over the moon and not telling anyone (except you lot - aren't you lucky!) Mum rang and asked if we knew. It was hard not to tell her - but we said "maybe we do and maybe we don't" when we move to Melbourne we will do up the room and keep the door shut so it is out of bounds for everyone until Cooper is in there (it's a nice feeling to call him by his name don't you think.

Anyway girls I knackered today. Throat is still sore and have a runny nose. We also have two friends kids sleeping over tonight (6 yo and 4 yo) and they just went to bed so am going for a shower. It's good practice but hard when your not used to it.

I'm so happy I am having a boy - I knew all along it was a little boy. I love my little Cooper so much already.

Good night ladies, I will sleep well feeling my bubba kicking me lightly.

Love Rhonda and Cooper xx
4forme
Wow you have been a bunch of chatty preggy mummies.

Ok I figure since there is such an influx of expected boys that I will share our name. Last time I kept Daisy's a secret as I didn't want ayone else due before me pinching it, but this time I'm more if one of you comes up with the same name you know I havent pinched it from you. Does that make sense?
Okay so our little man will be called Austin James. So when I had the scan the message I sent to dh was "so how does Austin James sound" Better think of a girls name just in case though as I am paranoid. We always get our middle names from family, and first names from where ever.

Back on the carseats- we don't have capsule hire services in my country town. I was seriously thinking of buying one of those steelcraft unity ones, but then I thought $299 for perhaps 6 months use, as well as an extra base for the other car, and then I feel dd is too little to go into a maxi rider.
Tara Nicole- How big is Issaac? As I know our little ones are about a month apart, Daisy was just under 9kg at 12months, I only just turned her carseat to forward facing a month back.
And then I won't have to get new bub out of the car as often as I did when Daisy was born with all those nasty kinder pickups etc, it's jus something we got over pretty quickly.

Kerry- Is that seat their top of the range one that is over $400? as thats the one I'm thinking of getting for the 4wd. I like the name Timothy. What a scare you had with your first scan- and oh so glad everything worked out.

Rhonda- yay on a little boy. I've always liked the name Cooper.

Sarah- i don't know I've heard anything negative about capsules apart from how heavy they get, but I wondered about hiring them, when it's supposed to be a big no no not to use 2nd hand restraints- how do they know they havent been in a bingle.

Ali- I reckon Elliot is a great name- you don't hear it at all much, which makes a name a top priority for me these days after my first 2 ended up so common. Ooh what nappies did you buy?

Okay that was my lazy last ten replies.
Catch you all mighty soon chatterboxes
pinkplane
Kerry you poor thing!! I can't imagine having to go through what you went throught. I'm glad everything worked out well for you both and that ultrasound photo is unreal! Taters is SO CUTE!!!!!

Oh Kylie I love the name Austin. I wanted it on the list but DH wasn't keen.

I've often wondered this but can't justify the cost of buying it new.

Kerry - Glad the 2nd scan turned out well, must of been horrible after the 1st scan. That pic of taters is just gorgeous.

Suze - Yay on the boy original.gif Amazing how many boys are in this group.

Ali - I love the name Elliott too. Hope you can convince your DH.

Kerrie - It is perfectly natural to feel like that. Infact with DD, even tho she was our 1st I was really disappointed to find we were having a girl. I was so certain she was a boy that I felt that I had no motherly instincts.

ETA - My appetite has suddenly increased 10 fold, has anyone elses suddenly increased? I feel like such a piggy.
Krystal1511
Bubbalooee, I know what you mean! but I've noticed that I'm not increasing the intake, just how many meals that I have. Ill have brekky and then an hour or two later be hungry again (and not craving the most healthy) dev (6).gif
motorcyclemummy
Is anyone else slightly or overly concerned about their financial situation? We've got the motorbike's service due in a month (it's pretty expensive) and then the car's service due in two months and my birthday is in a month and a half and the rego's for the car and the motorcycle are due in July and then we want to have everything set up for Bub by the end of July. Oh dear... ffear.gif

DH felt Bub move for the first time this morning biggrin.gif though Bub squirmed around when DH had his hand on my tummy so DH thought Bub didn't like it... Is that possible or was Bub just having a good roll around?

jadish maybe you could get a raw pine chest of drawers and stain it with a dark stain yourself (or get a friend to do it for you)?
4forme
Motorcyclemummy- Yeah I've been concerned about our financial situation lately. We moved house late feb, so the huge bills have been piling in. Not to mention my car needed 2 new tyres, and that same week (last week) dh's new 2nd hand 4wd (he'd had for a week) broke down in Melb so he shelled out $200, then had problems when he got home so brought a new battery ($130), to find that wasnt the prob, then found it to be he needed a new starter motor worth $600, so yeah we're kinda broke at the moment. I'm lucky it's baby #4 so I don't need to buy much, but hope to work for as long as possible to keep that extra income.

As for your bub and dh, was dh pushing hard, as mine always has (not with this preg as there isnt much for him to feel yet) and it would cause bubs to shift position.

Chantelle- i don;t think my appetite has decreased since I was preg with daisy.

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone can give me some pointers on how to keep up in here? unsure.gif I dont get on here much, and try to reply but I can never keep the flow going. I wish I could make a comment for everyone but I wouldnt know where to start... or am I just letting those hormones get away and it easier than I think? lol

HELP
4forme
Hi Krystal- sometimes the easiest way to semi catch up is when you go into th reply screen, the last 10 posts will be visible below it, so you can easily reply to anyone who has posed in the last 10.

Aside from that I used to really struggle with my first due in group and I used to make notes on pen and paper before I realised it's much easier to open a word program and type repsonses in there as you read, and that way your repsonses can be saved if there is a prob with replying in eb at the time.

Hope my waffle has helped

Hi Everyone,

Just introducing myself. I'm new to posting on forums (apart from uni) and just started looking into this site's forums in detail. Needess to say, I'm a bit lost but sure I'll get there with a bit more time.

I am expecting my first child on 11 Sept 07 (okay, that's the first time I've said 'my child' - what a spin out!). I live in country NSW but will be giving birth on the NSW Cetral Coast as my family is here and my hubby will be working in Sydney on the expected due date.

I have my first u/s Tuesday week and will be checking out the hospitals around the same time. I am wondering if I can feel the bub (very small stomach grumbling like I'm hungry) but really not sure yet. A very exciting time in the next few weeks and I made my first real baby purchase today - Huggies nappies on sale and my sister said they are quite a good price - hate to say it but it was very exciting!

Anyway, I have definately enjoyed what I have read so far and I will definately be around to get the advise and experiences for everyone else.

Cheers,
Hayley

Hi,

Just introducing myself (2nd attempt so will see how I go). I am due Sept 11 with my first child, live in Country NSW but will be giving birth on the NSW Central Coast if all goes to plan. About to hit the 'exciting' stage as we have the first u/s booked for Tuesday week and I think I may be feeling the baby move - time will tell.

Anyway, I have been reading your posts and find the information very valuable. I will defiately be around more to hear everyone's advice and experiences.

Cheers,
Hayley

Wow - what a big week it has been for scans!!!

Danielle - congrats on the news of having a boy!! How exciting!!! babyboy.gif

Tam - ohhhh your first kick!! Isn't it just the best feeling!!

Ali - so nice to hear your scan went well. Good news bbabyflip.gif

LittleBear - oh a girl!! Congratulations!!! babygirl.gif

Renae - congrats to you too on having a boy!!!! babyboy.gif And you get to see your little cherub again next week. Good luck - I am sure it will all be fine!

Rhonda - love the new house!!! Very 'housewives' indeed! I am sure you will love it too. Sounds perfect. Congrats on your news about having a boy too!! babyboy.gif

Kendall - Another boy!! Congrats to you too!!! Jake is a lovely name. Love your nursery too! I can't believe how organised you are. Looks great.

Ali - can you add me to the list.... having #3 at Birallee (Box Hill) in VIc - and we didn't find out the gender biggrin.gif

4forme - I am not organised at all! LOL We will have to put the girls in to share as we only have 3 BR's for the moment. We are either extending or moving but won't be doing so for at least a year at this stage. So bubs will have a nice corner in our room for a while original.gif Congrats on feeling your first kick!!! awwwwwww Still not sure when I am going to finish work. I am a nurse so it can be quite exhausting - but then I don't work full time anymore since having my cherubs and only work one shift a week - so could probably manage getting to 36 weeks?? We'll see!

DKD - we also have a short surname so long names are on our list. I really love Indiana (Indy) for a girl as it goes great with our daughter's names too. (Bella & Alex)

Angela - the maxi riders are great!! My eldest has one and I have also just bought her a tethered booster seat for our 4wd. The beauty is that you can use a h-harness AND a tethered booster seat! Perfect! I am a bit anal when it comes to carseats! LOL And yes, I was rather anxious prior to my scan today (more on that later). I think I went to the loo like 6 times before we left blush.gif I am sure your 2 little beans will be fine.

Motocyclemummy - congrats on feeling your fist kicks!!! YIPPEEEE

TaraNicole - oh yippeee for you too on having a little brother for Isaac!! babyboy.gif It will be great to have brothers close in age. My girls are just the best of friends!!!

Janxsprit / Kerry - oh what a scare it must have been for you guys. But I am so glad that everything is ok with your tater!! Congrats on having a boy!! babyboy.gif

Sarah - in regards to capsules... I have used them both times with my girls and they were fantastic. I have heard that you shouldn't use cloth nappies folded with the pad in the center when using the capsules as it can affect their spine. So if going on a long car trip to use disposable nappies in the capsule. My MCH nurse gave me a pamphlet on this a few years back as we were using cloth. Other than that - I guess if it was a daily thing for hours then it wouldn't be good - but every now and then I am sure it would be fine.

hayley - welcome to the group and congratulations on your pregnancy!!

PHEW!!! man we have been a chatty group!!!
Oh and don't forget to start saving your huggies barcodes! Their latest promotion is great!!!

Ok , will start a new message about today's scan biggrin.gif

Well our scan today went great!!

The girls were more excited than anyone I think and just loved seeing bub's feet moving about and bubs scratching the back of his head! (I say his and hers randomly!).

Everything seemed healthy and normal and the heart rate was 136bpm (could the rush of boys be causing this??). Funny as at the 12w scan the HR was over 160. I am only measuring 5 days ahead too... but who knows as our conception date is anyone's guess! LOL

We couldn't get a lot of good face images cry1.gif as bubs was snuggled up into the placenta with her hands covering her face. It was so cute though!!!

I didn't find out the sex as I just LOVE the suprise at the birth - but DH did!!! He also found out with our first daughter but kept it nice and quiet. I didn't really want him to know but he has as much right to find out as I have NOT to! LOL

I do have some pics though and will let you know when I get a chance to post them at my blog.

Even though everything seems fine with bubs and we are delighted... I was very very teary today. I found myself escaping to the loo just so I could burst into tears. pah... hormones!
Krystal1511
blush.gif Hi Hayley and welcome! Everyone on eb is fantastic and will help with anything..

4forme - Thank you. Definately makes it alot easier. I think I just need to relax.. it's all good original.gif

rbray - Thats wonderful about your scan. Sounds like it might be a boy ... I had the same thing with tears at mine, couldn't seem to stop them and for the first time Dh got a little teary too, so I think that contributed lol.

motorcyclemummy - Yup, we are having the same problems. It seems that it never rains, it storms (at the moment anyway). Dh's car broke down the other week, was out of action for 2 weeks, my car was due for a service, childcare was due and the list goes on, and we only moved 4 months ago, so bub was well timed lol.
pinkplane
Morning everyone,

Welcome Hayley! biggrin.gif I only just joined this group too and I've found it has been UNREAL!! It's so much help, especially when you have a problem that you don't want to talk about with family/friends around you. Good luck with your u/s on Tues, we have ours on Friday - the count down is on!

Rbray - Glad your scan went well, I can't wait for mine. When you mentioned your girls were excited to see bub, I'm assuming you meant your other kids? I was going to ask anyone if they knew if the sonographer minded other kids coming along for a look, but you might have already answered my question! We were planning on taking DD to our scan on Fri, as she's really excited about actually seeing something instead of just me waffling on about the baby all the time. Wasn't sure what the go was tho, might pay to ring them tomorrow I think!

After spending the last few weeks wondering if what I was feeling was kicks or just my insides grumbling, our bubba has started going crazy this wkend!! Usually I just feel the movements at night or late arvo, but it didn't stop yesterday and today looks like its gunna be the same. It's the best feeling!

Thanks to everyone who reassured me that its completely normal the feel worried about being disappointed over the sex of your baby - I feel way better now grin.gif

- Kerrie
rbray
HI Kerrie

good news about all the movement! That is always a good sign.

Most places allow family members in - afterall it IS a family affair!! Even when I had my ultrasounds at the hospital they let me have my child with me. At my 12 weeks u/s my 2.5 yo daughter kept the sonographer very entertained saying that there was a baby in 'water' and all sorts of other funny comments.

I am sure it won't be a big deal to take your daughter in original.gif Often their reaction is gold!
pinkplane
Thanks Glenda, thats good to know!

PS - Your daughters are BEAUTIFUL!! I love that photo you have for your sig wub.gif
taranicole
Glenda, I'm so glad your'e scan went well! original.gif

4forme, Austin is a beautiful name! Isaac is about 11kg at the moment so big enough for a maxi-rider. I'll admit the convertible carseat we bought for him was a real cheapo blush.gif and I hate it but we'll stick it out until this ones old enough for it's own maxi-rider. How long can a bub fit in the capsule?

Suze, Congrats on your little boy! Boys are the best! My DH is pushing for our little man to be called Cooper or Jackson atm...hehhe...great choice!

Kerrie, yep totally normal. Congrats on the movements! I've just started drinking coffee again and find bubs is really active after I've had one! I'm the hugest coffee snob/addict and have been so excited that I'm enjoying it again that I'm craving it constantly but trying to limit it to 2 a day (the real stuff).

Hayley, welcome! EB rocks! I can't believe we're all half way there already! I'm 21 weeks this week and bubs will prob be born at 38 weeks so I've only got 17 weeks to go...omg!!! biggrin.gif

Well..I went to baby bunting and put down a huge layby!! I bought a cradle/mattress, almost the whole kidsline Malawi range nursery decor including single bed stuff as the boys will eventually share a room, a baby bjorn and a maxi rider carseat. They had 10% off yesterday so I saved heaps...DH almost fell over when I told him how much it was laughing2.gif ...I can't wait to pick it up and finally do up the boys room!!! Oh, and we bought a new washing machine too...amazing how excited I got over the washing machine. blush.gif

Hope you all had a great weekend!

xoxoxoxo
~Daisy~
Hi ladies,

Well we went out yesterday and spent $500 on kidsline bedlinenen. We originally bought the Malawi design then after walking into a baby shop in the after noon came across the Construction Zone design and DH nearly died. So we took the other stuff back and bought the whole lot! Can't believe I spent $80 on a bloody lamp with a truck underneath it! That's just insane but I have put away $2000 for these sorts of things and it's my first bubba after all.

DH wanted to do the Lightening McQueen theme from cars and I said "no i want cute bubba stuff to begin with" so we setttled ont he construction zone. it is very cute thought and the room will look lovely when it's done.

I have nearly told 3 people what we are having! It's so hard to keep quiet which is one reason why I didn't want to find out in the first place! Mum know's that I know - she said that she could hear it in my voice. She said she doesn't want to know as she wants a surprise but she also said that secretly she would love me to have a boy (my brother has one little girl and probably won't have anymore it looks like). Mum loves little boys! She will be stocked when Cooper arrives!!!

I have told them when they get down to Melbourne (they will come down a few weeks before the birth) they can't look in bubs room so the door will have to stay shut until he comes home as it will be so obvious when you open the room up as to what it is!!!

Anyway hope everyone is well. I haven't got time for personals as have to go to best mate's for tea. Am off to Mackay tomorrow for my last trip away for work! WOo hoo!!! Hoe happy am I to be finishing up in two weeks!!! Gosh the last few months have flown by.

So have a good week girls. Will be back Friday. Take care and good luck with scnas those that are having them. Let's hope we get some more girl's in this group so we have someone for our boy's to marry!!!

Love Rhonda and Cooper xx

P.S. DH bought me an $80 digital scrapbooking CD software thing today to say congrat's on us finding out it's a boy. That will be my new hobby when I move and am settled. Can't wait to get into it!!! Ciao xx

Just a quick one...

Taranicole - Just read your post as you posted while I was typing! Cna't believe that we both bought the Malawi design (even though I took it back as DH begged for trucks) and that you want to call your bubba Cooper or Jackson!! That's awesome. We loved both names hence the reason why we are using them both.

Take care xx
DKD
Hi again,

well its a wet and windy sunday here is perth original.gif i love this weather tho. I'm all rugged up in a jumper and ugg boots original.gif

I have chosen my linen for the nursery too. Now i just have to convince DH to agree original.gif I have chosen the kidsline barnyard range. They are all beautiful tho. I havent bought anything yet for it tho coz DH wants to have an input but i think i will end up winning. DH also wanted something really boyish like tonka trucks and i had to convince him to choose something more babyish. They have years to be little boys, i want to keep it a baby for a while yet. I agree tho they are really expensive. I am currently doing all my homework on the stuff i want so i can go to one baby shop and layby everything together. Most places give 10% off for spending over $1000. I still have to buy a car seat, pram, breast feeding chair for the nursery, linen, bouncer...so i think i will spend more then a grand yet original.gif

janxspirit- a car seat with speakers for an ipod?? thats crazy. I know a girl who bought a pram with ipod speakers I thought that was crazy.

as for bills...man i know what you mean, on top of the $1000 it cost us to get out dog fixed up after her accident, we had to pay another $1200 for DH car, and then the cost of doing our backyard to keep the dogs in. We are totally broke at the moment and its a bit scary.

kerrie- i know what you mean about the baby suddenly going crazy with kicks, i feel like mine went from the occasional kick every couple of days to kicking constantly in about 2 days. I love the feeling tho.

Question- who are you having in the room when you are in labour? I want DH there and at one point i spoke to my friend about being there as an extra support person but since she is the friend that has been sick with depression and all the other stuff that has happened since i dont know how i feel about that anymore.

Hope you all have a good night

Love Danielle
pinkplane
Hi ladies,

DKD - I had the barnyard range for DD when she was born - I love it!! And because most of it is generic, I thought I could use it this time if we have a boy, but DD has become so attached to it, expecially the blanket, that I want a new set now cos she's made this one so dirty that it even won't come up properly clean after soaking it for ages. (More like I just want any excuse to buy new stuff!!! tongue.gif )
I prob wont go into labour this time (phew) as I have to have another caesar, but last time I didn't want anyone in the room when DD was born, except her dad. My Mum was there for a lot of the time during the labour but she wasn't going to be there for the birth. I didn't feel comfortable having anyone there looking at me when I had no control over what I was saying/doing etc. Turns out I didn't have to worry about it anyway cos I didn't give birth naturally, but thats another story! Everyone is diff though, my brothers g/friend had about 5 people in labour room and didn't mind a bit!

Kerry - My DD just turned 4 last week and she weighs 18kg, just so you know!! (Although my just-turned-3 yr old nephew and niece weigh the same wacko.gif ) So the car seat should last at least 3-4 years

Tara Nicole and Suze29 - looks like Jackson is a pretty popular name round here - we're going with Jackson if it's a boy. We must all have great taste!!!!

Night all,

- Kerrie
