Just because DD#1 drew a face with her texters today and before that she has only ever really just scribbled on everything. We were a bit shocked to see her do something constructive finally! LOL!

So just out of curiosty, at what age did your DD/DS start to draw something you could recognise?

DD's first "drawing" was around 18 months when she deliberately drew a zig-zag and a straight line. Her first picture was at 2 1/4 and it was a face like this original.gif , but with a nose. grin.gif

It varies considerably, also girls tend to draw before boys.

At 1 1/2 - 2yo the MCH check expects them to be scribbling, not necessarily drawing pictures, and not holding a pencil properly.

Thanks for your replies guys, I should just look up the developmental milestones and that would give me an answer too! You've been very helpful original.gif.

Cheers,
