Hey everyone,

Just wanting to ask some questions about BF and return of AF....may be TMI....

With DS#1 I BF until 15 months and AF didn't return until then. With what I can remember it basically reared it's ugly head in the normal way as if it had visited the month before IYKWIM?

Forward on to DS#2 now 11 months and still breastfeeding, today have had cramping in my belly, then a burst of bright red blood which is now almost non existant brownish blood :s Was only one burst iykwim?? now basically nothing but still cramping in my belly....

Has anyone else exerienced this? Please tell me I am normal lol, I'm a little weirded out by it all.

With DD1, AF came back when DD1 was 6mths & BFing, was as normal, had cramps for a couple of days, then AF arrived, lasted the usual/average 5 or so days & went away...she came back 28-30 days later, as normal...had no drama's

With DD2 (BF for 15.5mths) AF 'kind of' came back when she was 11ish months, had a couple of days of light spotting, very slight cramps & then nothing for around 5 or 6 weeks, but once she came back, did I know it
It was awful, I could barely get out of bed for two or three days, I felt like I was in labour for the whole three days, I was nauseated, cramps, very heavy bleeding..it was just awful
Next cycle she was 10 days late, still worse than normal, but not as bad as the previous cycle, the next cycle, back to normal...the cycle after that, we fell pregnant with this babe

Lucky you going that long without a visit from AF!

With DD1, I got AF back when she was 10 weeks old. Exactly back to normal cycles (well only 2 and I was pregnant again).

With DD2, AF came back when she was 12 weeks. I only had it for 2 days, then exactly 4 weeks later I had a normal one. Both babies were fully breastfed (boy, did I feel ripped off LOL)
