Is your AF cycle meant to be the same after birth. Before pregnancy my cycle was 28 days nearly to the hour. AF returned once and I am now on CD 34 and no sign of AF. I am still breasfeeding. So it is nearly a week over when I expected I would get another. Is this normal?

Mine stayed the same, although, before DD I never knew what 'period pains' were - like someone said 'contractions are like period pain' and I went hmmm, that doesn't help.
So while the length of cycle stayed the same, I had slight discomfort (barely noticable) after DD, a little more after DS1 (annoying more than anything) and as for this time... won't be long to find out as ovulated yesterday... not impressed - didn't get AF back til 11mths or so after DD, then 3mths after DS1 and now will prob barely get to 3mths this time!

My cycles were all over the shop while breastfeeding. I didn't realise this, so was a little surprised to be pregnant, as we only BD'd once unprotected at around CD 26! (especially as it took a little while to concieve DS!)

My OB said it's perfectly normal, and did a dating scan to confirm how far along I was - the date of my last period was no help at all!

So I would say you're normal!

KimMaree - what IS 'BD'? I mean, I've worked out what it means but what is the B and the D for...?
Also like your ticker/pic - precious cargo - very apt! original.gif

Hi Kristy,

BD = Baby Dance, I see it a lot in the TTC threads, a lot more subtle way of saying it I think! wink.gif

DS feeds almost 3-hourly and I've had 4 (? 1 might have been late lochia) since he was born. Pre-baby my cycle was every 26 days but the past month was the only cycle so far that looked sort of normal -- the rest were pretty random.

Thanks girls. AF's ear were obviously burning as she arrived this morning original.gif
