Hi all,
Thanks to this board I have heaps of ideas as to what to give DS for finger food but i am unsure as to how to get him to start. Do you just put the pieces on the high chair table or put them in his hand or what?? Any suggestions most appreciated! Thanks
cheers
Anna

Mine has just started on fingerfood. Anything around her goes in her mouth so I just put banana fingers on the high chair tray and she helps herself. She now also has pieces of kiwi fuit, nectarine and peach. It's a VERY messy process, but so much fun! lol!

Can you let me know where I can get these ideas for finger foods. I have just started my DD as she refuses to let me feed her. I just put food on her high chair table and she grabs at everything....be warned...its messy and most ends up on the floor!!

I didn't start giving DD finger food regularly until she was about 9-10m old. By this stage she was chewing up chunky food very well. I started with cubes of soft cooked veg or fruit about 1cm and put a couple at a time on the high chair tray.

She gobbles them up no problem and not much mess either. I put her in one of those plastic bibs with the moulded tray at the bottom so nearly everything she drops goes in there and she can fish it out herself, or I do and put it back on the tray.
