Hi there

I have a very active 2 year old. We live in a rural area with no real facilities for kids of his age. He dosn't have a huge attention span as yet so things like drawing, pasting etc hold his attention for about 15 mins.

Does anyone have any activity suggestions for rainy days??

Hmmm rainy days stuck in the house with a 2 yr old...my idea of fun wink.gif
Simple things are best at this age i think...try throwing a ball (or pair of socks) into a bucket or basket/box etc....make an obstacle course with cushions, chairs, etc.....make a cubby using chairs and a blanket or two...let him help you sort the washing into piles for each family member.....try ripping pictures from magazines (kids love the destructive feel to this one wink.gif ) ...make up a "book" just for him...add pics of fave things from mags or even photos of family members....watch raindrops racing down the window...and of course there is always the fave of going out and jumping in the puddles ;p
Good luck - hope you can use some of these... original.gif

My son likes going on www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies, it has loads of stuff to do, games to play, print and colour outlines, stories and songs, things to make etc. Some of the games I have to help him use the mouse but he loves watching them.

Also he loves to help me bake.

I was going to suggest the baking! DD has her own little stove top that 'sizzles' and 'boils' when you place the saucepans on- keeps her entertained for ages. Oh, and licking the bowl takes a while too, lol!

We have a min pin (very small) out door dog that I let inside to play with DD on wet days. DD absolutly loves it and will chase the dog around the hose all day if I let her. BTW, the dog is very good inside.
