My 2.5yr old DS refers to milk as "bonk",so therefore he asks for a "bonk" every time he wants a milk drink....At first I thought how cute but now I can't get him to change,I've tried correcting him when he says it but he replies "yes mum bonk please" Its a tad embarrassing at creche and daycare when he asks the young girls oh and when we are out shopping and he sees the milk section and yells "Me wants bonk mummy, bonk please....." :gasp:
I'm sick of explaining when he wants a bonk its means he wants a milk drink. I think my cheeks lately have been a constant shade of red blush.gif

I understand where you are coming from! My DS (until a week ago) referred to biscuits as 'beer', which has led to a few embarrassing moments when out in public. "Beer please Mummy". Great, thanks for making me look like a bad mum, kid! blush.gif

My advice for trying to change names is to try and incorporate the new one into the old one. I have started doing this with my DS. For example: my DS watches Ice Age and refers to Manny the mammoth as an elephant. Now I am trying to teach him the difference. So, I tell him that Manny is a special elephant. I refer to Manny as a special "mammoth-phant" with an eye to dropping off the 'phant in a week or two. I have tried this with a few other words with good success. The trick is remembering to always use the other word first. So you might start referring to it as 'milk-bonk' or similar. Sounds equally stupid I know original.gif but marginally better than a straight 'bonk'! Then in a few weeks drop the bonk and go with just 'milk'.

Good luck with it all!

... the Big Man heard a loud f*ck the other day and told *everyone* at BiLo about it blush.gif let's just say that I took great pains to ensure that everyone knew that a f*ck is a frog!

Hi there I usually hang out in the twins and multiples forum but when I saw this I had to read it and it made me laugh! I can totally relate to this! My boys are old enough now to say most common words fairly well but went through many stages like you are describing. But I had to laugh the other day when we went to see their uncle who had just built a new deck... and one of my sons bowled up to him and trying to compliment him on the deck said "Wow you've got a great d*ck! uncle Al" The poor man didn't know where to look! After I explained that my son was referring to his dEck his cheeks gradually reduced in redness! original.gif
You've got to laugh,

LOL!

We had to visit the US Consulate in Melbourne and as we were waiting in the foyer Hamish started running around making loud silly noises (there was an echo) and at one stage he made the sound BOM. We both laughed whe he did this so in true toddler style he thought he'd repeat the joke by running around the foyer yelling yelling BOM, BOM! Lucky we weren't on an aeroplane or we might have caused the flight to return home and the plane checked for explosives :-)
