We are thinking of taking our daughter with us to Thailand for a holiday- I was wondering if anyone had any horror stories for me or any fantastic stories that will give me some hope! I am wanting to find somewhere to stay where there is a kids club for two year olds if possible??? Any help would be greatfully accepted! Cheers Julies

YES! We took our 2 1/2 year old sone to Thailand & a great time was had by all. We went in Janueary which is supposedly the best time of year to go, not too hot, not too humid.

We stayed in Bangkok & went south to the sea rather than north to the jungle & malaria. We didn't give our son (or ourselves) malaria tablets as they are not nice.

We had the best time, the thai people love kids & having a family earns you respect. The amount of people who took time to entertain our son was amazing, people playing pool would stop their game & let him have a go, he wandered up on stage somewhere & was given the mike. It was all good.

We did the backpacker thing & stayed in huts on the beach for about $5 per day (a few years back), I think in a month, travelling, eating, buying up big we spent less than $1500. Back then a really decent hotel was $20. Don't know about resorts with kids clubs, I'm sure their around at places like Koh Samui or Phuket which cater for the higher end tourist.

The public toilets are a bit scary, we just travelled with a potty if we were on the road. He actually came out of night-time nappies on that trip.

Thailand rocks, the people are great & friendly, the food's fantastic, it's an experience.

We have just come back from a week in Hong Kong and a week in Bangkok. It was very tiring but enjoyable coz we went to see family.

In HK we stayed at family's and in BKK we stayed in a serviced apartment, it was great but quite expensive though. It had 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, washing machine, dryer, iron. There were 5 adults and 3 toddlers and very comfortable.

Well fortunately we didn't have any horror stories, we did have ice and had local milk, but we didn't eat off the street stalls. We also didn't take and tablets or have any injections before going.

Not sure about the kids club but the Thais love kids and when we went out to eat the waiters/waitresses ended up keeping them very entertained while we ate.

Don't know if I was any help.
