Just a quick question on Poo - sorry TMI!

My 16 month old always has runny poo - ranges from sloppy to quite runny (last few days). She has at least 3-4 a day sometimes more. She has never really had anything solid and I'm starting to think that this isn't normal. Plus its causing horrible nappy rash when daycare don't get to it immediately.

She is on cows milk - 2 x 180ml a day. Eats a varied diet of Weetbix, sandwiches, fruit, crackers, veges, rice or couscous etc. I have tried lactose free milk but that made no difference.

I asked the Dr once and he just dismissed it - but perhaps I should investigate further ??

Could be chronic diarrhoea of infancy - have a google - it's not uncommon.

My DS2 had sloppy poos since he stopped breast feeding. GP suggested it was food related and said first change brand of milk. We changed to A2 milk and straight away firm poos! Sometimes if he eats too much citrus fruit it goes straight through him too.

Good luck hope u sort it out original.gif

Fruit is a big culprit in my house. My boys can't eat many types of fruit (which is still trial and error) and also can't have too much quantity (1-2 pieces a day max). Which can be tricky as they love fruit, but my 3 year old is starting to understand the connection as we explain it to him when we tell him why he can't have certain things.

I haven't tried the a2 milk, although they don't drink much milk, but it might be worth a try!

I just bought the A2 milk today to see if it makes any difference to my daughter(27months).
She had hardly any, but she does like her fruit which I try to limit to 2 pieces a day. She doesn't like much in the way of carbs(bread, cereals or flour based foods) so fruit is something she'll always eat.
The few days when she had 2 mandarins a day were BAD as were the days she scoffed LOTS of blueberries.

My DS has the same issue and is just growing out of it now at 19months. He's down to 1-2 semi-solid poos a day.

The doctor took a stool sample about 4 months ago and it came back normal - she wasn't concerned and said he would most likely grow out of it in time which seems to be happening now.

He's much much worse if I let him have lots of fruit so I tend to limit it the day before he goes to daycare to minimise nappy rash.
