I'm so so sorry. My (only) sister was 9 when I was born and I remember how excited I was to meet her, but also how envious I was that I would now have to share everything. Please don't regret the impulsive thoughts of a child - how much you really love her is obvious. Be kind to yourself tomorrow.

Thank you for your beautiful post OP.

My youngest died nearly 3 years ago as a baby when my other children were 10, 8 and 5.

I hope my children write something in the years to come about their little brother that is as beautiful as your tribute.

RIP Nicole

I find it so hard to understand how a mother/ or sibling can cope with a death of a child/sister or brother. My sister lost her eldest son at the age of 17, from a car accident. He had 5 siblings. I had a 3 week old at the time, and was unable to attend the service in another state. I have such fear for my beloved children (but thankfully not to their detriment) but at times I am so overcome with fear I am spellbound. I find thinking about him very difficult, but thankfully my family is very open about him, and his life, and it is not a taboo subject with them. Sometimes I can even laugh about different things he had done in the past.
