Hayley has caught a tummy bug and been home all week so far. Just pains and diahoreea, but more the pains. She can go o.k when not eating anything and as soon as she eats dinner, then pain hits and last all night and until lunch time next day.

Have tried panadol for pain, but did nothing, chemist today put her on buscopan.

She has an appt on friday for GP

Now Jack is complaining of the same thing and has had diahorrea this afternoon.

How long does this last? I was told 7 days ohmy.gif I hope not.

Was told there are so many kids through the school that have had it, but none in Kindy yet.

Edited to add- I suppose I should be thankfull it is not a chest infection/Sinus infection or cold this time around wink.gif

Poor kids. It will pass but some tummy bugs can last a week to 10 days. I've never taken mine to a GP before for one, I would if they were dehydrated of course.

Make sure you keep her off all dairy while she's got it.

My DD's best friend had a very bad tummy bug a couple of weeks ago and was actually admitted to hospital for a day and a night. She was back to her normal self after about 4 days all up, though. The rest of her family didn't get it, and neither did DD, thank goodness (they have a lot of close contact)!

Hope your DD feels better soon. x

our family had it, lasted 2-4 days per person, then moved on to the next person. I got it last and would have been much more sympathetic, the tummy pains were almost the worst pains I have had. it as awful. nothing really helped but keeping up the fluids

DD1 had a tummy bug for about 3-4 days about a week ago. Wiped her out. Vomiting only.

Six year old had a bug that was 7 days exactly. Cramps and vomiting though, not the other end. We'd never had a long stint like that before.

It was a strange one. He was fine in the morning and would eat breakfast but the cramps always started around midday and then he'd vomit in the mid afternoon. Same pattern for a week.

Exactly what we're going through here. Pain and diarrhia, exactly as you described. DH was at the GP yesterday getting a certificate and the Dr thinks it is a virus with instructions to come back if not better soon. Great fun stuff sad.gif
