Just come across this car seat. Has anyone seen one IRL? Know what the weight/height limit of the 5pt harness is?

It is a 2010 standard seat so no 'weight limits' as such. There are height markers to show when the seat should be used at the next level.

It is a Type A1 seat rear facing which means that it is designed for a child to rear face to 6m (also known as approx 9kgs/70cm approx). For forward facing the height marker will be such that a child of approx 100cm (or maybe up to 110cm) will fit in the seat (still tested with a 22kg 6yo test dummy as were the old 'up to 18kgs' seats). Booster seat it should fit a child to a minimum of 128cm (still tested with a 32kg 10yo test dummy although as were the old 'up to 26kg' booster seats were).

Type A1 - Rearward-facing restraint with a harness for retaining the occupant of supine length up to 70cm, and approximately 6 months of age.
Type B - Forward-facing chair with harness, suitable for children approximately 6 months to 4 years of age.

The 0 to 8 is the most extensively tested car seat for compliance in Australia. It was tested with seven configurations of dummies (from newborn to ten years), a total of 39 dynamic crash tests, and it exceeds the most stringent safety standards in the world.

The reason the seat is the most extensively tested is that it is currently the only seat which goes from 0-8yrs so has to pass individually all 3 test sequences (ie. RF/FF and Booster). Not really a huge point in its favour as such.

In terms of current 2010 seats with height markers the New SnS Compaq and Maxi Cosi Complete Air seem to have the highest markings at 42-43cm. Most are at 38-40cm.

Thanks, we have a Cargo Marathon which is great. 3 1/2yr old is 102cm & 18.5kg & still in a harness which I will keep him in until he is 21kg?. He is far too young to put into a booster so was just wondering if the height markers for toddlers was higher than the Cargo.

Personally I would continue to use the Cargo Marathon up to 21-22kgs. The Cargo Marathon has the highest top shoulder slots of any Aussie seat (top shoulder slot at 50cm from memory). Most Aussie seats are 38-40cm top shoulder slots. So personally I would be sticking to what you have.

The middle height marker is at 40cms.

This is a lower than some of the convertible car seats (SnS Compaq, Infa Neon) and convertible booster seats (ie, Maxi Rider Easy Adjust) on the market.

That's its only downfall. It rated very well in the CREP results released last week.
