Hi everyone.
I've been BFing my 12.5-month-old and he's been really good about not biting apart from a few tentative nibbles when he first started teething. I've just found out that I'm pregnant and it feels like my supply has already dropped. I think I am only 4-5 weeks along, by my calculations. Is it too early for my milk supply to drop, or for my milk to change in taste? Could this be the cause of his biting. It doesn't seem to be due to boredom. |

I have no expertise, but I don't think it's ever too early for supply to drop. From what I've heard, the order your body allocates nutrients is 1. Foetus 2. Breastmilk 3. You - so your bub might already be feeling that!
I'd say it could easily change in taste too, as your hormones will have changed. |

My DS did this at about the same age and the same gestation. Unfortunately for us it meant I had no more milk (I expressed always and was getting less and less). I stopped feeding and had no milk build up at all, so we were done.
I am now breast feeding DS and hope to feed her longer as we won't be having any more babies. Unfortunately she doesn't love feeding as much as DS so might cut things short herself. |
