Oooohhh....it really IS all about me...... tongue.gif

Oh, okay, you can come join me if you must want to...!

But while we're talking about me:

Off to the dr today. Believe it or not, Master Bug has a.....cough. Yep, I know, you have been listening to me whinge about his coughs for, oh, at least two years! Well it is back. And after last year's cough landing him in hospital and on asthma medication for a couple of months, I am off to the dr to express my overriding paranoia!

Poor Lady Bug has red watery eyes, nose, mouth...she has toothbuds bulging and is a snotty, miserable scrap of humanity. Just needs lots of cuddles.

And we have another inspection tomorrow. I think the agent got twitchy when I mentioned puling the house off the market! We have had much action in the past few days....

I think I can safely claim silver.

Mamabug - it's just horrid when the little ones are sick

AFM: DS1 walks into preschool, we do the preschool stuff and then say goodbye and I walk out. No mess, no fuss, how good is that. I'm so proud of him.

Hello to everyone, hope you are having a swell Monday

Just swanning in to grab a podium finish original.gif

MBS - well done DS (and mummy I'm assuming!)

Mamabug - is there an alternative real estate to list with? I hope master bug is better fast and lady bug too sad.gif

I talked to tweddle today (who named them?) and we agreed I probably don't need sleep school any more but she said they don't recommend CC any more (great - 35 years of Cc and I call the year it changes!) but she did say of he went to sleep in a couple of minutes that was great - yeah right, you won't convince me to go back in there in under 5 minutes after this weekend. She also told me not to feed him overnight. I'm very unlikely to follow that plan though...

Apart from that the mice are back - brilliant. The exterminator came today and said the old bait was still there so I guess they're not going to die soon either. Ugh!

Another attempt at day care tomorrow original.gif

Hey Girls,

Just plodding along at the moment, just basically putting one foot in front of the other.

Elliot is still only sleeping for half hour stints during the day, the CHN now kindly tells me that its probably just him and thats all he needs. So the day sleeps aren't getting longer, does that mean I'm destined to have a baby that never sleeps through the night? (according to previous wisdom of the CHN, the longer the day time sleeps, the longer the night time sleeps.) Still waiting on Care Cottage to ring me for an appointment, they come to the house. If they don't work, its onto tresillian.

I went and worked in the family bakery on Sunday and it felt really good. Elliot was fine, he didn't even want boobie. He went from 5am until 2.30 and then I only fed him because I thought there might have been an explosion waiting to happen in the vicinity of my bra. He's now down to 3 BFs a day and I no longer feed him at night.

In other news, we're getting a new puppy. A little black labrador. Cadbury will have a playmate. I need names, so put your thinking caps on. I'm thinking Licorice? Vegemite? Expresso, just to keep with the food theme.

We also got 4 chickens on the weekend who are currently residing under a light in my small lounge room. The shouse is finally getting some animals.

Noisy - Are you seeing anyone or taking anything? My life became totally different when my meds kicked in - seriously so different that I would happily be a spokeswoman for depression australia or any other place because they changed my life. I like licorice for the doggy, in my opinion the combination of licorice and chocolate is near perfect biggrin.gif

I was just coming in to say Teddy went through to 5am FIVE A M !!! Then fed (against advice) and slet until 7.30am when he woke himself up and talked happily to his bear until I went to get him. Bliss.

Fingers crossed this continues...

Day care on the other hand...well, he's at home put it that way laughing2.gif

Love to all.

and life barrels on like a runaway train
Just about to run out to playgroup so I can't write much. I just wanted to say to NoisyTractor -Owen was a horrific day sleeper. We would fight for up to an hour and a half to get 45 mins max out of him.

We went to sleep school run by the MCH clinic twice but it did not help at all. By the end of it, it was affecting his night sleep as well, which was just not on! So one day I just said bugger it, and dropped him down to one day sleep. It was like magic - he would sleep two+ hours after lunch and be a happy well-adjusted little boy for the rest of the day. Then he would sleep pretty well at night.

I honestly can't remember when I had this epiphany, but it was some time after 8 months (which wsa the last time we went to sleep school) and before 1 year. I still hate the idea of dropping day sleeps - it is like abandoning all hope of a break . But it made life so much easier for us that it was definitely worth it.

And now I have Elise who is a fantastic day sleeper and still needs two 1-2 hour sleeps twice a day. Night time is up and down, but she suffers a lot with teething which Owen never did. I guess there is no such thing as the perfect baby!

In good news. I am feeling almost human today!!

In bad news. Sucks to be a Canberran with last night's budget.

Noisy I don't subscribe to the long day sleeps = long night sleeps. The longer Lara sleeps in the day the more she parties at night so definitely doesn't work here!

Well I wont say it sucks to be a Canberran all the time, although the temptation is there wink.gif It sucks to be us too - although this is pretty true of all labour budgets as despite both being left leaning hippies, we have managed to accumulate too much individual wealth (and trust me, we're not wealthy by anyones measure) and thus never get any tax breaks. According to the on line calculator we will be $3 better off per year "actual saving may differ" laughing2.gif

Anyway, great you're feeling better Goosey - how far along are you now? It can't be time for the NT scan yet surely?

I have started a thread under day care about Teddy's attempts at day care. It has no responses, it seems the lovely wisdom of EB have no idea how to help him either. I'm taking him up after his nap today to see if he's any better then (seems unlikely I'm afraid).

Noisy - I can tell you exactly what they do at sleep school if you like, then like me you can go "but that doesnt make any sense..." and do your own thing. I also dropped DS1 to one day sleep around 10 months - he was a much happier lad for that but I think he went to bed a bit earlier for another 6 months or so. Probably until day light savings started actually!

I am supposed to be working again. I am not as I have a child at home again. ARGH! In better news I think I have found someone to supervise my PhD. You know, because the other 15 bits of paper with my name on them still aren't enough. I wonder if the Uni will still want me to study after I have a doctorate? Probably ask me to get another one...

Happy days everyone original.gif

I am still alive and won't apologise for not posting as I am sure you all understand. Sadie is now 3 weeks and in the last couple of days has been a bit unsettled when napping during the afternoon and early night. She just wants to be held and won't sleep in her bassinet, she does not scream but it makes this time of day a little difficult.

But the part I cannot complain about is that she will be asleep by 9 or 10 and sleep through until about 1:30 or 2am and then again until 6:30 or 7! We even had a 11:30 until 5:30am the other night.

Last night I popped her into her bassinet and tried patting and stroking her forehead and nose and she was asleep within minutes, maybe a fluke but I will take it. All trial and error at the moment and today she seems very settled.

A quick question from a hopeful Mum, she has started doing little smiles and her eyes just light up. Now I know that she won't socially smile until 6 months or so (from what I have read) but it is a start? I am going to take those looks of love and store them all up anyway! wub.gif

So nice to be back in here with you all!
