My son has a chicken pox like rash....the doctor can only see us tommorow morning. But now Im wondering if it is chicken pox. He was exposed to it about 2 weeks ago, and it certainly looks like chicken pox blisters......but they aren't itchy??? They only appeared yesterday, so do they get itchy later on??? unsure.gif I mean its good hes not itchy, just wondering what the hell they are..

It's kind of a reach but...since I just posted about it - Google 'Hand, Foot and Mouth' and look at the pictures...does it look like that? If so, you're lucky, and it's not chickenpox.

My eldest was immunised against chicken pox but still got a very mild case her first year of school. The spots she did have didn't really bother her and didn't seem itchy at all. She missed eight days of school but apart from the occasional spot that didn't bother her she was just fine.

Yes I changed my name again!
when I had it the second time as a kid it wasn't awfully itchy so might be a mild case?

Quick call Whine-1-1 & dispatch the Whambulance immediately
When my DD was 3, she got chicken pox and was covered in them - this was before a vaccine was available. She wasn't itchy at all! I think because she'd suffered from eczema, the chicken pox mustn't have been itchy compared to her eczema - well that's my theory. wink.gif

My kids had the chicken pox vaccine but still caught the chicken pox. I wasn't convinced they had it so did some research and apparently if they have had the vaccine and get catch the chicken pox it can present differently. The spots on my son were more severe but not itchy and my daughter only had a couple of spots. Neither was sick.

Ditto, expect that my DD's case was about 3 months after her CP immunisation. She wasn't itchy at all, was only mildly unwell with a fever and general lethargy, snotty nose etc. She never scratched the spots at all I don't think! Worts thing for her was that she was still in nappies and the spots under the nappy took longer to heal up.

Anyway, any rash is worth checking out, just to be sure.
