[Soccer Mum]

OK so DD is nearly 15 months, still wants bfing 2-3 times a day, Ive been trying unsuccesfully for the last 3 months or so to cut it down. Shes fine when Im not there anyway, I went away for about 30 hours and she coped fine with her dad (she doesnt drink cows milk or formula).
Just found out Im about 8 weeks pregnant. I work full time in a fairly demanding job and will need to up until about 8& 1/2 months for financial reasons. But the problem is DD keeps getting a lot of colds and flus, ear infections etc, and often doesnt want to eat or drink much water when sick, she just wants boob. She is underweight according to the growth charts (confirmed by a doctor and a MCHN) although she doesnt look unhealthily skinny and is otherwise healthy and developing well.

So what would you do under these circumstances.... If I keep letting her have breastfeeds a little longer, will it affect the current pregnancy? Should I just load up on vitamins and iron tonic and keep going?

It is up to you whether to continue or not. It sounds like you want to wean now but are trying to avoid being the one to make the decision.

I breastfed DD1 until I was 7 months pregnant with DD2. It did not affect the pregnancy one bit. Our bodies can be quite amazing, growing one person while being the total nutrition for another.

You do know what is best for you, you just have to trust yourself.
