Pregnancy mentioned

From memory...
IVF/ICSI 1 - 8 eggs, 4 fertilised, 4 to day 5, 1 transferred, no frosties - BFN
IVF/ICSI 2 - 8 eggs, 4 fertilised, 4 to day 5, 1 tfr, no frosties - BFN
IVF/ICSI 3 - 6 eggs, 4 mature, 3 fertilised, 3 to day 5, 1 tfr, no frosties - BFP DS original.gif
IVF/ICSI 4 - 4 eggs, 4 mature, 4 fertilised, 4 to day 5, 1 tfr, no froties - BFP due 27/6/12

most recent cycle was our best and I was 3 yrs older with known low AMH. Try not to fixate on the numbers, just take one day at a time ... good luck OP.

I was 34 at the time of my very first IVF cycle. At epu they collected 11 eggs & 8 fertilised, the day after that 6 of them fizzled out & I was only left with 2! They weren't going very well & they asked me to come in the day after that, so they were only day 3 embies when they transferred them. One was only 6 cells & the other was 9 cells, they were very fragmented. It was extremely unlikely that I would fall pregnant with these, so you could imagine my surprise when I had a bfp with twins!!! My FS said that nothing surprises him after that.

Some FS's only transfer at day 3 because they think they have better outcomes (from a couple of articles I read). I thought having them get to blast stage was the be all & end all - certainly not the case.

Thanks everyone for your replies!

Spotty - no news as yet! They told me yesterday on day 1 there were three and they won't update me til tomorrow which is day 3 and then again on day 5 if they survive! Fingers crossed.
Thanks for asking. original.gif

I'm not expecting good news. Guess its just easier to deal with if my hopes are low.

Good luck!

We only got 4 eggs (3 fertilised). We were always going to do a Day 2 transfer - different clinic, different specialist, preference for early transfer.

Worked for us. PGs from 2/3 of those embryos!

What I've learned is that a bad cycle can turn out great, and a good cycle to crap. You never really know until transfer (and then blood test. And then viability scan!) It's an agonising process.

Fingers crossed for you.

Hi everyone,
So day three report is all three embryos are still surviving and thriving. Perhaps too well? Two are at 11 cells and one is already starting to compact and look like a 'cloud'.The embryologist told me they are doing very well and gave me the impression I should get a transfer on Wednesday which wil be day 5.
Fingers crossed they continue to survive. I hope its all a good sign. Now I'm worrying about whether they are dividing too fast and will not make it... oh when does the worrying end. sad.gif

The worrying doesn't end, trust me!

So far so good though, hopefully they'll all keep going well and you'll make it to transfer and maybe even get a frostie. Good luck x
