Hi

I really would like to breastfeed the twins together if possible. I can't imagine feeding individually and having a toddler as it would take up a massive portion of the day.

1) Is a twin breastfeeding pillow essential?
2) Which brand did you use?

I have a my brest friend singlteon pillow and it was great. I only used it for a few weeks and it's in such great condition. I spoke to a lady at the baby shop and she said twins won't fit with a single pillow.

Thanks original.gif

For me, yes, it was essential. Tandem feeding was the only way to make enough time in my day, and I managed to do so for four months. After that, they were bigger, wrigglier, and I fed them one at a time.

When they are very small though, the pillow for me was the only way to go.

I used this:

Until my girls could sit up I used a twin pillow, would have been super hard to tandem feed without it.
I went to Clarke rubber and had a foam one cut, they even had a pattern for it! (a girlfriend made me a cover). Can't remember the exact cost, but I don't think it was over the top.

I though it was essential until I learned to feed them separately (which wasn't until about 6 months). I used a my breast friend twin pillow, but I'm sure any would be good, provided it was big enough that the first baby can't roll off while you're trying to attach the second baby. I tried doing it just with pillows propped up in bed but I found it incredibly uncomfortable. The my breast friend comes with a back support which I found really good.

Good luck with everything.

I was another my Brest friend twin pillow user! I only stopped when they were so big and wriggly that I felt it was unsafe to continue tandem feeding. I couldn't have managed without the pillow. I think from memory we got it on sale for around $70, worth every penny. Good luck original.gif

I used a twin milk bar pillow and found it great. I tried not to rely on it to much at first as I didn't want to find I could only BF with the pillow and then have to drag it out with me all the time.

Thanks everyone for the replies. Had a look at the various options and love the My Brest Friend pillow but not easy to source. Found one on gumtree for $70 that's only been used for 4 months so I'm very happy, hopefully going to pick it up this weekend!

Glad you found one! Was going to say that I used the San Diego Bebe (EZ2) twin breastfeeding pillow and selling that on gumtree too if you need one. I only used it twice. One of my twins had a lot of trouble with feeding, so tandem feeding went out the window for me.

I haven't used it yet, but just bought a my Brest friend twin pillow on eBay, I stalked a couple of sales first and they seem to sell for $40-50.
