I have 4 year old that will be starting kinder next year and another child who will be starting the year after. We have 2 public schools in the area that Im not keen on but would like to send them to the local catholic school or christian school. Our problem is DH dosnt like the religion aspect and the fees. I figure we get money every year from CL for the children after tax is done why cant that go to their education and how do I get DH to see it my way

Hand over the chocolate and no one gets hurt
Ok, a few things. If you are not religious, be prepared for what your child will be taught in a Catholic or christian school. You may find this confronting and, to be honest, the school would expect your support for their religious views.

Fees - these will generally need to be paid up-front (ie at the beginning of each term). So when you are looking at the costs, consider that plus the costs of uniforms.

Finally, you ask "how do I get DH to see it my way". Have you genuinely considered his views on this as well? This statement assumes you are right and he is wrong - you won't get very far with this view. If the education offered by the Catholic or christian schools is better than your local state schools, discuss this. How have you determined it is better or that the State schools are lacking? Are there other features of the schools to consider (size, composition, extra-curricular activities). What do you expect of the education to be provided to your children and what school can provide this? These are the issues you need to discuss with your DH, not just why you are right and he is wrong.

Take a tour of each school and take your DH with you. You can then discuss each school on it's merits.
