Hi,
Friends of ours are having us over for dinner & she is making roast pork, potato bake & I am taking home made apple sauce & asked what else I could bring & she suggested dessert. Great I like baking etc... except I am at a blank for what to make & what would be nice after roast pork & kid friendly? Any suggestions? |

roast pork and potato bake is a pretty heavy meal, so I'd make a light dessert.
What about meringue nests filled with fruit/berries and crushed flake (and whipped cream or creme fraiche? SP? if you must) Eton Mess? jelly for the kids? sorbet? |

QUOTE roast pork and potato bake is a pretty heavy meal, so I'd make a light dessert. this. Some ideas follow - I'd post pics but there's a few and besides, the more I like the more my mouth waters lol so I would hate to do that to anyone this is nice - home made ice cream sandwich - you can fancy it up or have as is. You can make mini ones too, by using a round biscuit in the bottom of a lined muffin tin, pour in mix and berries/choc, then the other biscuit on the top. Once frozen/set, tip tin upside down and they'll pop out (assuming you lined the tin!) - individual serve. Maybe a berry sauce/coulis (sp?) to go with? these peach and Greek yogurt muffins are beautiful - light and fluffy and so more-ish. You can top with cream and 'fancy up' for dessert or serve with custard. chocolate fudge brownies, topped w cream and fresh cherries, recipe from Tupperware. Lemon Meringue Lemon Tart (this is extremely yummy!) As you can see these are ones we have made/make often and really really enjoy. Another thought for something light would be a fruit platter, with a bowl of cream, bowl of melted chocolate and some skewers. Those who just want watermelon etc can and those who want to dip, can. Good luck and enjoy! yum~! This post has been edited by KristyMum-: 26/04/2012, 10:36 PM |

Get a tub of marscapone, a bag of violet crumble bites (or generic) smash 3/4 bag up and stir through marscapone. Cut up pieces of fruit, like pineapple, melon etc for dipping and serve.
