So after my mc last month I ovulated at the usual time in my cycle and got my period one day early ( we were TTC but BFN). But my period is much much heavier than usual. No clotting or anything just bright red blood ( sorry TMI). Just wondering if this is normal for first AF after MC? Would it effect my chances TTC this month do you think?
I really hope someone can give me some reassurance as I don't really know who else to talk to about it!

Not sure if it is normal, but it definitely happened to me too. To add insult to injury, it also lasted nearly 3 weeks.
It was my last one for a long time though - DD was conceived shortly after!

So sorry for your loss.

I have had 5 losses and each time the first AF afterwards is always heavy and a bit different to normal. I am now having my first AF after this last loss and it's definitely heavier and bright red like you describe. Think it's completely normal - well as normal as it can be if you know what I mean!! Don't think it will interfere with you trying to TTC this month. Hope that gives you some reassurance.

V I was exactly the same. They came 1 day early but then it started like my miscarriage did with brown stringy stuff and heaps of clots and then I had heaps of bright red blood. I'm not sure if its normal but I had it too. When I miscarried I didnt have heavy bleeding so maybe that was my bodies way of cleaning itself out. Things seem to be back to normal now though

hey wishing! :-) I admit I've been stalking you a bit to see how you are doing in TTC #1 thread. I feel much better about this cycle. After my MC, my cycle seemed to be back on track straight away in regards to ovulation etc, but I got some Wicked pregnancy symptoms the whole month, like headaches, cramping, heat in uterus like when I was pregnant, but in my heart I knew it wasn't going to be a BPF I think. It was a really really tough month as well. Just wishing and wishing I was pregnant and thinking about where I would be at with my pregnancy if we hadn't lost the baby. Just didn't feel right you know. I agree with the "clearing out" theory. I'm not having a lot of clotting with AF only a little bit, but I'm taking it as a good sign that things will be back to normal this cycle.

My good friend who was due the same date as me, announced her pg on Facebook today so that was a bit tough as it reminded me that I would be at the magic 12 week mark now, but instead I am not pregnant at all. :-( Sigh! But I'm trying to look forward and let go of (but never forget ) the baby we lost to make room for the next one that is most certainly coming to us soon.

oh sorry just saw your reply now. I'm going okay I thought I was fine until my SIL and another friend just announced their pregnancies this week. I should be announcing mine this week And I guess I was just caught off guard.

Other than that I think things are back to normal. I was sent off for the CD21 blood test over the weekend to check things are back to normal and I'm O'ing. I'm pretty sure they are, I feel normal. And like you the cycle before my period after my MC things were all over the place. I was still feeling pregnant and getting positive tests even up to the day my period came! Crazy huh.

I can see you understand and have friends in similar situations so I do know how tough it is.

Fingers crossed for us both that we get our BFP's very soon! My AF is due on Wednesday so I'm hoping it stays away We'll see though it took us 9 months of solid TTC to get our first BFP so I'll be really surprised if it happens so quickly.

So how is it that a natural miscarriage works? My obst told me to expect a normal period - he is male!
Also the sonographer seemed to think it could take up to a month. Does it follow your menstral/ ovulation cycle or is the moment of miscarriage/period arrival completely random??
I had no feotal growth after 7weeks 5 days & tomorrow will be 10 weeks since i last had a period.
If anyone has any insight that would be great. Thanks in advance.

With a natural miscarriage, the bleeding starts when the body is ready to loose the baby. Some women have to go in for a D & C after waiting for weeks for it to happen naturally. Did your care giver give you any indication how long they want you to wait? As there is a risk of infection if you dont miscarry aswell.

Your miscarriage wont happen on a cycle day that indicated ovulation or anything, its completly random. Some women start to bleed as a first sign of a loss, and loose baby others have a scan that shows no growth/baby and miscarry after this date or opt for a D & C, which is what i done. I could not bare to wait for a natural as i wanted closure.

So if you have waited 3 weeks, i would go back and speak to your care giver and ask for them to check things out, it may be a indication that you need some drugs or a op to help the miscarriage along or it may just be a matter of time.

Yes, it all happened quite naturally about 3 and half weeks after i was told, it started as a spot the night before & by the Friday evening it was happening, a 2 hour process with no pain but just very heavy bleeding, i was glad to be safe & sound at home.

I must have been one of the lucky ones (read the irony) to miscarry so well, i've heard some shocking stories, even in this post.

But thanks for the care in your response, i really appreciate it.

I'm now currently having a period, actually i don't know what it is, so far i've had 3 days of a 'spot', exactly 27 days after miscarriage, which is why i returned to this post & found your response.

Not sure what's going on? 3 days of a 'spot'? Even tool a pregnancy test, negative,

so not sure if it will a normal period will start soon? or spotting is it. Weird huh?
