Please don't buy a Baby Bjorn. Your baby's basically held up by their crotch and it's bad for their hips for their legs to be dangling like that, not to mention the pressure on your shoulders. The Ergo is much better for you and for baby.

As others have said though your baby is too young. I used a Calmawrap (same as Hug a bub) until my daughters were about 6 months, then switched to the Ergo. Motherwrites' suggestion of making one is a good one, my friend bought some material and made 3 out of it for half the price of buying one, no sewing required! That said I bought my Calmawrap second hand, it had been used for 2 babies and I used it for my 2 as well, and it's still going strong. Love it!

The other option is to look at carriers like the beco butterfly2 or Manduca - they have built in newborn inserts and are much more adjustable than the ergo (I have both an ergo and a beco and wear the beco way more often). I'd keep away from the crotch dangler style carrier, they're not good for your back or bub's hips. Plus once bub is a little older the back carry totally rocks!

Another option which isn't as popular here (yet?) is the Boba. They have just bought out a new version, G3 which is suitable for newborns with no insert.

I have a G2 (more for toddlers) that I bought specifically for traveling and it is fantastic. It's a SSC, like the ergo but has a much higher back. I can comfortably, or I could before I got pregnant, carry either my 2yo or 4yo.
