Morning all.

I might have to check in more regularly.

A big welcome to Rocktot and Cordyline and congratulations on your positives!!

Cordyline- Congrats. I think I saw you on the IVF boards - I never had the courage to join seeing all the BFP's popping up each month (just stalked). I can't believe the explosion of BFP's for April. I am the result from a natural FET cycle (no meds whatsoever other than aspirin and vitamins) and nervously awaiting my viability scan at 7 weeks - Only 11 days to go. Hopefully we've all got stickies.

Miss Buttercup- This will be our first bub but 4th BFP in last 12 months ( all early miscarriages). Sooooo excited, so far so good. Our house was a 3/4 demolish job and rebuild. BIG job. It's unfinished & liveable for us but will need further luxuries finished for bubs.

Spitzmum- Definitely avoid the varnish. I still had some lead paint to remove in the original part of our house, not sure if DH is up to it- I've been doing all the painting /finishing plaster etc.

Rockyboy- Congratulations on your engagement!! That is wonderful news and a new bub to go with it - truly blessed.

LoT- Ditto thanks for the shopping tips. Any info for the first is greatly appreciated.

RockTot- Welcome to the group. Sounds like you will have your hands full. I take it you have no family close by to assist? I hope a solution will present itself soon. You are right, we always manage to cope no matter what the problem that presents. I wish you luck.

AFM- nothing new, a little tired in the afternoons (then waking in the night) and marking time until my scan.

Cheers

Hi everyone

I got my bfp yesterday and it's our 2nd bub, our DD is 9 1/2 months so we'll have a 19 month age gap. Due date at this stage is 11th January, though my GP will send me for a dating scan so I'll know more accurately then.

have had minor nausea so far and lots of tender boobs, which I didn't have last time. FX it's a sticky one, same to everyone in here.

My GP is away until the 9th May so will make an appointment to see her for then for bloods etc

Good Morning Everyone!

AFC - I've been waking as well and then knackered in the arvo, it hits me around 4pm. i finally have a toddler who is sleeping through, and I can't manage a proper night's sleep!! Frustrating! Good Luck with your scan, not long now! And don't stress about getting things done, the nesting will kick in and you will be amazed what you can do! You can't really tell what may happen - my 1st pregnancy, I was comfortable and still able to do everything when I was 41wks, but had friends who were on bed rest at 25 wks. you just take it all in your stride. What needs to be done will be done!

cordyline - Welcome and Congrats! waves.gif Fingers crossed for a sticky one for you!

Miss buttercup - This is pregnancy #2 for us, I have a DS who is 18mo. We've just sold our house to move interstate, so I don't envy you. Hope it sells ASAP!

RBR - Congratulations!! llove.gif How exciting!! Any thoughts on dates or holding off until bubs has arrived?

LoT - What happened in your last pregnancy? Hope you definitely get a better one this time!

spitzmum - it the rocking chair for the nursery? How gorgeous! You will get good use out of it, believe me! thanks for the link, NIB are my insurers, so it was handy! I think also, in terms of costs, other than the management fee, all the costs are progressive throughout the 8 or so months, so its quite manageable.

RockTot - I hope you can find some care for your DS. I'm freaking out a little about managing with 2, and giving the next baby as much attention as I gave DS, without the challenges you are dealing with. I agree with your DH though, now is probably better than later.

lovemyLife - your DH is very well trained!

buzz - Welcome and Congrats!! waves.gif We share the same EDD!!

Zarlias - I went public with my 1st at the main maternity hospital, and it was a great experience, I couldn't fault them. I'm going private this time, as I am having a elective C section and the hospital options aren't quite the same since we've moved interstate. Don't worry about the personals, at least you are upfront! Tounge1.gif I'm just procrastinating from doing work! Oh and apparently sperm can live for up to 5 days, so not impossible, but your DH does have good swimmers there!

Mumski - Congrats & Welcome! waves.gif

AFM - Nothing exciting happening here. Apparently its going to take a week or so for the rest of my results to come back for all the standard tests and then the Dr will write me a referral to the OB. I'm not very impressed, as it all seems quite a slow process, I'm used to a lot quicker in Perth. Grrr. But perhaps thats becuase the Ob's book out a lot faster down there.

In terms of shopping - I agree with LoT - all of the department stores have their baby sales around July, I put a lot of the basics on layby then when I had DS, and then you have the Baby Expo's. Do your research beforehand, and you will often pick up good bargains there. And if you buy everything in a bulk lot, negotiate for the best price you can get!

And just remember, not matter how well you plan, there will often be something/s that you will need afterwards. I planned to swaddle DS at first, and bought heaps of muslin wraps and he ended up being a baby that wanted to sleep with his hands up, so i ended up purchasing some special wraps for that. Then he liked being rocked, so I ended up with an electric swing. I purchased a daytime bassinet, but he hated it etc etc etc.

As the group grows, I expect we will have to start a list, like the others do. Any suggestions on what info you feel comfortable being on there? I think in my last DIG it was something like username, EDD, boy/girl/surprise, pregnancy # and other children? I'm more than happy to look after the list.

welcome cordyline - I was wondering whether we'd see you here original.gif

AFC - 11 days, hopefully they won't drag by! I hadn't thought of how many days it will be until I saw your post ... 17 - seems like forever!

Welcome Mumski11 original.gif

AFM - the need to pee is driving me crazy! No matter how much or little I drink, it seems to be about hourly - which will be interesting as I have to participate in 4 graduation ceremonies over the next week where the whole thing goes for about 2 hrs and I'm supposed to stay on stage for the whole time blink.gif . I'm also getting up in the middle of the night to go.

I also have breast tenderness, mild heartburn and a bit of a sore lower back - but given I thought my baby oven was broken - relishing all of these symptoms ddance.gif

Hi all! Congrats to everyone... hope they are all sticky little beans.

I missed all this DIG stuff first time around, so I decided to see what its like and share this experience with some others in the same boat.

EDD is 1/1 which is my dad's bday so he will be happy with that if it happens. I'm seriously considering an elective C as DS's birth was terrible so I think I might just take all the angst I'm feeling about a VBAC out of the question. I'm in country Vic but hope to book in to Freemasons in Melb and go private. I have serious issues after last time with the country public system!! Thats depending on all going as plan of course.

Anyway, nice to meet you all and I lookk forward to sharing this trip with you all.

oh and for all of the first timers - hold off buying lots until either your baby shower or your parents/siblings have bought you stuff, cause even if you insist they don't buy big ticket items, they generally will!

we nearly ended up with 3 carseats and 2 cots wacko.gif

Outfits are cut, but things with feet in them are so much more practical, though my DD was a winter baby so no idea if I still need to dress in a wondersuit type thing for summer? hmm. I feel like I haven't done this before original.gif

Mum and loving it :D
So I am joining your group after being in denial for almost a week now...

I got my BFP.gif on 11dpo but at first thought it was an evap line as it was so light tested again on 12dpo and got an even lighter line but went to the drs for a blood test as I have been really tired lately... 16dpo there is no denying it it is staring me in the face and I am not sure what to think. Don't get me wrong DH and I wanted number 2 just not so soon... He is off to Afghanistan on Christmas day and bubba is due Jan 04 at this stage... I am feeling very apprehensive about it all atm and I am torn as I really want another baby my DS is now 2 and definitely no longer a baby but I am almost finished in my PhD and that would need to go on hold and I don't know if I will ever get it finished and I am in an area where if things don't get published then they don't exist...

ok sorry for my rant I am just so confused atm but I am here now so lets explore the wonder that is bubba no 2 grin.gif

Congrats to all that are in this group thus far and belly rubs to all wink.gif

Hi everyone. I had my BFP yesterday and we have only had sex once since the last pregnancy test three weeks ago, so I'm four weeks along now (doesn't that do your head in, the way the embryo age is two weeks less than the term of the pregnancy?).

It's as yet unconfirmed by my GP, but it was a convincing BFP and my period is late, however I have only had two post-partum periods since DS (12.5 months).

This is #2 for us and I'm freaked but also excited -- I actually said, "Holy f-, I'm pregnant."!

Holy Dooley did we fill up! Welcome all!

Hey Azz, looks like we're due date buddies atm. I think there's at least one other due on the 1st too.

Is anyone else in sunny Briz Vegas? (and yes, that was intended to be sarcasm - so glooooomy)

I have been procrastinating so much about calling the Dr. The GP I used in my last pregnancy is on maternity leave, so I don't really have anyone in mind, but I would really like to have an early scan this time. I have decided that today is the day I will call and make an appointment for next week. But I'll just need to do it....later......

I too have been needing to pee a lot, but have channeled my urges onto sticks. My DH keeps saying "Did you just pee on a stick AGAIN?" and I'm like uhhh mebbe? I have a lovely little pile in the cupboard now... tongue.gif

This is pregnancy number 2, technically, but I don't like to count the first one. It will be sticky baby #1.

Spitz I meant to ask - is your username because you have one? I have a little spitz here who is very much looking forward to playing "big brother" lol

Anyway, I am STARVING and in need of some crap food.

TTYL All and duct tape to you! waves.gif

spitzmum - The urge to pee hasn't really kicked in for me. It didn't last time either. But I do know I have a very large bladder from the 'holy bejebus' comment from the sonographer the last time around. Try to get a seat on the edge of the platform, good luck with the graduations!

Azzy - Congrats & welcome!! Sorry you had such a horrid experience the first time around, i'm opting for an elective c-sect as well this time.

Mumski - I forgot about that as well - I was interstate from my family, so it didnt really come into play, but they do go a bit overboard with the presents! My DS was a summer baby and was a definite no no on the wondersuits, but he feels the heat like me. I saw plenty of other bubs in wondersuits though.

kirsee - Congrats and Welcome! Is your partner Army? My Dh is ex navy. He was away for most of my first pregnancy and almost missed our DS being born. Looks like we are due date buddies! Hope everything works out for you.

runnybabbit - Congrats & welcome!

Zarlias - mmm crap food! I was a hot chip fiend in my last pregnancy! I'm wolfing down some indian atm, enjoying the spices before the heartburn kicks in! good luck getting into the Dr!

AFM - I just came in to update after my Dr whinge post this morning, I rang the Ob's office to see if they were taking january patients and they couldn't beleive that the Dr was being so slack about the referral! There are only 3 private Ob's in the city, so you need to get in quick! So I'm all booked in now, just need to get the referral next time I see the GP.

Has anyone thought about how they are going to break the news to family/friends? I've already told my mum, sister and best friend, as I couldn't hold it in any longer, but for everyone else I bought an iron on transfer for one of DS's shirts that says "I'm going to be a big brother". I'm going to send a pic of him in it to the in laws once we have our dating scan to see if they work it out!
