become religious or join the armed forces. So far, so good.

Fingers crossed Dorothea but I will give you a slight shiver.

A lovely friend of mine is an artist married to another artist - they have three sons.

She was a proper hippy in the 70's and raised her boys surrounded by creativity, freedom, and adhering to hippy ideals of non violence, self sufficiency, fairness, love your fellow man..et.al.

She ended up with a sailor (navy), one who works for Philip Morris (yes the evil multinational tobacco death merchant) and one who works for a dodgy, dodgy giant company who despoil the natural environment, and make millions from poker machines!

They are nice boys though...

Wear licensed clothing, play with licensed toys. Ha! (although the clothes are generally limited to hand me downs and pj's).

A friend of a friend swore her children would not be exposed to "plastic" in the house - so everything (bottles, cups etc etc) was going to be glass.......

I've Just Gotten A Spare Moment
  1. carry on when they don't get what they ask for in the supermarket
  2. be rude to their elders by not using their manners
  3. use the internet at home unsupervised
  4. have a facebook or twitter account
  5. be into the Wiggles esp Dorothy the Dinosaur
  6. be allowed to watch The Simpsons in our home
  7. be into horses (not even toy ones)
We have always declared that we would not "childproof our house but houseproof our children", and we have been successful thus far. Our DD & DS know and learn pretty quickly not to touch what they are not allowed to.

We have succeeded with all the above thus far with #3 & #4 future ones obviously and although DD has one horse with her Barbies it is only one and that will be all.

In saying no horses my stepdaughter was into them and we have lots available to good homes with some in really good condition if anyone interested including a very large MLP Minty and matching small Minty. (message me if interested)
