I'm not a huge fan of surnames as given names, but this one I like as a fn.

Like it, think I may add it to my list!
Edit: strike that, DH doesn't think it goes well with surname. The search continues... This post has been edited by tauruspregnant!: 24/04/2012, 11:56 PM |

I like the name Mitchell - I think of it as a variation on Michael (which I also like) rather than as a surname turned first name.

nice
we chose surnames.clan names as first names as we wanted something a little different, a strong name to go with our common surname so we have a Todd and Grant This post has been edited by kerilyntaryn: 25/04/2012, 06:39 PM |

I like the name Mitchell - I think of it as a variation on Michael (which I also like) rather than as a surname turned first name. I agree, I think of it as a variant on Michael rather than a surname (though like Michael(s) it can be a surname too). But I like Michael better than Mitchell aesthetically, even if I did have a crush on a Mitchell when I was 8. While not directly related I also like Micah and Malachi more than Mitchell. No real name rules type reason, I just am not into "Mitch" and it doesn't feel as classic to me which is probably purely a matter of it being less common amongst the circles I moved in growing up. |
