Hi we don't know what we are having but are really stuck with a boy's name. I have always thought Ned was cute but have never considered it.

What are your thoughts? Also My partners surname end's in N so not sure if Ned N will clash.

We have a DD called Sophie.

All other suggestions are welcome boys and girls!

Thanks original.gif

Don't crowd Sir Walter, Edmund.
I really, really love Edward, but I really dislike Ned.

I love Edward too wub.gif Even more so as it was my Pop's name. I love the nn of Ted, Teddy, & Ned.

Shouldn't be too bad with clashing if you will only call him Ned without his surname.

I like Edward but I love Ned!

I think the name beginning and ending in N would probably sound fine.

Our DS1 is Edward and gets Eddie, Ed, Ted ... Not such a fan of Ned personally but go for it if you like it. I don't have a problem with surname beginning with the same letter either, our surname begins with E.
I think it's a great, timeless, versitile name for a boy and for a man too. wub.gif

I like Edward and Ned. I don't think Ned N___ would sound odd unless the surname was Nedward or something similar (ie. like calling a child John Johnson). I know it is done, but I don't think it's a nice thing to do to a person!

I like Ned but, for whatever reason, I couldn't even tell you why, prefer Edmund to Edward by a lot.

Sophie and either sounds quite good and classic.

I don't think first name last name alliteration is a problem with NN and even less so with a nickname as it's not even his initials lining up oddly.

Aren't Edward and Sophie one of the couples in the British Royal Family biggrin.gif

I like Edward but you may have the problem of people just shortening his name they way they want to so it will end up Ed or Eddie.
