Happy Anzac Day everyone.

We got up at 4.30 and headed into the city for the dawn service, and then we went to the RSL for breakfast. The kids are still awake which I am amazed at!! original.gif

Mrsdelagee - I agree with Hooloovoo about what the blood testing is for at this early stage. I had bloods done yesterday so am interested to hear what my iron levels are like. I think they are testing my HCG though to see if it is likely I am carrying twins (as i already have twins), but i did note on my dating scan referral it notes to check for twins. I must admit the thought of that terrifies me!

Also how does it work with LMP and length of your period? My period is 36 days (spot on every month), and my LMP was 9 March, so working out on a pregnancy calculator online it came up as my EDD as 22 Dec. However, my doc said that they don't take into account your cycle and just go on a 28 day cycle so that would make my EDD 14 Dec? What has happened with all you girls if your cycle isn't spot on for 28 days?

Anyone from Darwin or have experience with Darwin maternity at the public or private hospital? I am in two minds about it. I think i might ring the two OBs (yep only 2 OBs in the whole of Darwin rolleyes.gif) and see if they can give me a quote over the phone. We have PHI and I think i will no doubt have to have another Csect (i have already had two), so am wondering if its worth paying extra when one of them will do the Csect anyhow?? I know that public do have to share a room and i have heard horrors about that.. but is the luxury of having my own room for 5 or 6 nights worth thousands of dollars? Hmmm.. I was very spoiled with my last two pregnancies and went private in Canberra and I loved my OB. I wish I could get him up here and if i could i would pay anything!

Ok better go - i have just made some cheese & bacon rolls and Anzac Biccies, so off to eat some! Yum!

Northernlife & Hooloovoo thanks for your responses. Yeah my cycle is spot on 34 days hence why I used the online calculator and came up with the 26th of December but the doctor did mention her estimate comes from a 28 day cycle and that's what she sticks to....
I also am A- blood type and my husband is doing some blood tests as we have to find out his blood group ASAP. The nurse said my tests won't come back till Friday but the doctor doesn't need to see me until the 7th of May, where we'll review the test results and go from there.
Sorry for being so vague, it's my first pregnancy and I really do not know the first thing about it. I can't speak to anyone about it because I want to try and wait till 12 weeks before I tell anyone (other than the family). My mum was rhesus negative also so she has helped me with a little insight on what to expect but she is sure its changed a bit in 26 years since she had my B+ brother.
Thanks again guys.

NorthernLife I wouldn't call it bad, i'd call it normal, but my 14 month old still wakes at LEAST two times, if not more overnight for boob. Going to be interesting with a newborn haha.

AFM, tomorrow is our scan...soo excited! Can't wait to find out how many weeks I am and if theres one or two...haha, im pretty sure its just one!

MahnaMahna – I’m from Perth, southern suburbs, you? What hospital are you planning to go to?

AFM – I didn’t mention this in my last post but I found out at my US that I have a septate uterus. Does anyone else in here have that? It’s pretty rare and is linked to recurrent MC so I’m just curious. It also increases my chance of a prem birth.

I am east, near the hills, Kalamunda area original.gif

I went public at Swans with DD, then private at Galliers with DS. I really liked Galliers so am probably going to go back there but I was also keen to try the birthing centre at King Eddy, so not 100% sure yet. Where are you going?

I have heard of a septate uterus, do you know at which point they start to worry about pre-term birth? Is it after a certain point in your pregnancy?

If you have a cycle longer than around 26-30 days then going by the LMP is not going to give you the correct dates. As your AF comes every 36 days spot on, I would take your LMP date as 14 days before then and then work out your EDD from there. I would say your EDD is more like Dec 22 as you originally thought.

Mahna Mahna – I’ll probably be going to St John of God Murdoch. I was planning to go to Attadale (I have PHI) but my GP/OB is no longer able to look after me because of my complications and dates so I am now having to go with a fully priced specialist eeek. blink.gif
I think I’m pretty much a risk the whole way through but at the moment I suppose they are just seeing if I make it to the NT scan at 12 weeks before they bring up all the more detailed stuff. I believe the preterm birth is related to the baby running out of room so I don’t think it’s an issue until much later on.

I was reading more in to it today and it seems the main issue is if the baby has attached to the septum/septate, is that right? I would assume they would of seen if that was the case for you in the US?

Hopefully you have an uneventful pregnancy and can have the issue sorted before having another.

My sister went to SJOG Murdoch, she was very impressed with them.

Hi Everyone
This is my first post on here so I apologise if it's not right to jump right in. unsure.gif
We've just found out we are expecting out first child, EDD 23rd Dec biggrin.gif Slightly freaking out!
I have a referral to see Dr Darren Roberts at Calvary hosp in Adelaide. Anyone from here see him?

My GP didn't do anything other then send me off for a blood test unsure.gif Shouldn't she have at least done a test to double/triple/quadruple check my home tests? I left kind of feeling a little 'ohh, that's it?'
We did have LOTS of tests done last year as we were in our 3rd year of TTC so I know quite a few tests have been covered but still.......nothing?

Everything seems to be going well so far *fingers crossed* feeling a little blerk most of the time but not too bad.
I'm not sure what else to talk about on here, but I would love to have some to share the next few months with besides DH of course biggrin.gif
I hope everyone else is going well.
Soo, yep, HI! tthumbs.gif

Hi Everyone,
Have been reading through the pages for a couple of days. I have a nearly 6yo son and have been TTC since December. Got a BFP on the 18/4, it was a clearblue digital, got all excited, went to my gp the following day and did another test there which came up negative, he sent me for a blood test and HCG results came back at 24. Had another test on Tuesday and will get those fesults tomorrow. Freaking out so much. My LMP was the 19 March and i have so many symptoms and just really hoping HCG results come back nice and high. My partner thinks i am crazy for worrying but just cant help it.
Well hopefully i will be joining you all, if i am my EDD will be around christmas so very excited.
Congratulations to all of you.

Lisa

Yiiiiiikes I am not going to be able to keep up with this!!!! Which is sad as I find it really hard to connect with 100 people in here!!! Hello 100 expectant Mummas!!!! waves.gif waves.gif waves.gif waves.gif

A few quick personals...

To those having some issues at the moment - hope you're okay. bbighug.gif Sparrowfall it's been a while since we heard from you, everything okay lovely? hhugs.gif

Zing yep I am bloody tired. yyawn.gif It's my main symptom. Staying up late and reading through EB forums doesn't help either lol.

Hi aqua!!!!! Yaaaaaayyyyy so glad to see you in here!!!! Helloooooo to the newbies too, hope you're all settling into the group nicely! biggrin.gif

Ahhhh and Jade - good to see you in here too lovely!!! What an awesome surprise you've had!!! So glad we're on the ride again! ddance.gif

yip - Yep, I've had a few dizzy spells, mainly when I'm doing too much or haven't eaten (or both). Hasn't been too often though as I've been managing to eat pretty frequently.

thesame - yep lack of MS here always makes me feel suspicious, even though I was the same with DS. I've had a few nights feeling queazy but that's it, no vomiting. So I'm glad to know there's a few others with less symptoms!

Dh and I were in a baby shop yesterday and near the doorway was a twin stroller, and he looked at me and said "wonder if we'll need one of those". I nearly jumped on him and said dude, dont you dare put that out in the universe.

Lol dreaming you sound just like me.

Mrsdelagee welcome! Do you know when you were ovulating? If not, you may have ovulated later than you thought, and that would explain the faint line as you may not be as far as you think. If you're cramping on one side only for a long time and it won't go away, go to the hospital. It's normal to have cramp feelings in different places but one pain in one area like that, and I'd check it out. It could be an ectopic pregnancy (probably not, but better to be safe than sorry). I've had funny pains that have freaked me out and I just keep thinking to myself, as long as it isn't a sustained pain, not to worry too much.

Belle last time I had my Mum and DH with me as I wanted there to be 2 people in case of a long labour (so they can tag team if they need a break or something!) but it was a pretty quick one, which means this one should be even quicker (Maybe 4 hours????). So, I'm thinking of just having DH there. Feel a bit weird about that but I guess it will be okay. I've thought about having a friend there but I'm not sure... Will think more when I get closer I think. Maybe a student Midwife... I'd actually like someone else there for my DH's benefit as they really have no idea what to expect - last time while I was in labour he said to my Mum 'Are they all this bad, or is this one worse than normal?' and Mum had to say, 'No, this is normal'. And mine was a good labour!!!!!

Shamoo - Welcome! waves.gif Totally fine to jump right in! biggrin.gif

AFM - Still soooooo tired here. And I feel like I've been showing since I was 6 weeks for those who feel the same!!! Ugh, not going to be able to keep it under wraps for too long!!! DH has been good recently, today he took DS in the morning and let me have a massive sleep in til 11am!!!!! Was awesome!!! Back to work tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to it. sad.gif

My scan is on Friday and I'm really excited about it!!!! I should be 8 weeks 1 day. Can't wait for the confirmation!!!! Feel a bit anxious that it's not happening, but I know that's normal. Plus, lol, I want to see that there's just one in there!!! Have had no real indication that there's more than one but it's a bit of a running joke that I might have 2!!! (Early BFP, high HCG levels, and now showing pretty early) FWIW my money is on only one, but feel free to place your bets before Friday rolls round! My DH keeps joking that it's 2 girls and they're going to come out with pigtails. roll2.gif

Have been craving green, leafy veggies, preferably steamed, and preferably broccolini - what the hell is with that????? blink.gif

Hi everyone,

I have my scan today. I feel suspiciously not nervous whereas my DH is a bit of a nervous wreck. He apologised to me last night saying that he should be the strong one etc which just cracked me up.

Looking forward to today making it feel a little more real, although the fact that i feel like crap 24 hours a day is confirmation enough for me. Wish I didnt have to go to work today, I am so tired.

Bellefin - i was just going to have DH there but didnt realise just how exhausting this may be for other people. Thing is the only other person i would want in there would be my mum and she lives in NZ so doubt that will happen.

HappyLizard - Im thinking super super super sticky thoughts.

Aurora Sleeping - you too aye. Im really into vegetable at the moment, especially spinach, hhhhmmm spinach with egg on toast.
