Is the interview process critical to being accepted into the school i.e. can you be rejected at that point even if you've already been advised that you have a place and have paid the non-refundable deposit (several thousand dollars)? An interview process was never mentioned to me and my son is due to start at his private school's ELC next January... Rowena Have you been told (in writing) that you have a place at the school? If so, then if you have to have an interview, it would probably be more designed to work out which class to place him into etc. It might be worth double-checking that students from the ELC get automatic entry into the Primary School (and High School) ETA: Some some-refundable deposits are just to put your name on the waiting list. DD's Prep interview she was asked a few basic questions, asked to count, draw a picture of her family. I think that's about it. They really just wanted to make sure she was ready for school.
Definitely the "why did you choose this school?" question is pretty standard. They also told us about the religion component of the school and asked us if we were prepared for DD to be taught religious concepts, and be supportive of it. I would not be worried. As PP have said, just be yourselves, and use it as an opportunity to ask specific questions ie extension, music, art, drama programs etc. |
