Today is exactly 4 weeks since I had my miscarriage and I still haven't had my periods. I keep reading about people who fall pregnant again straight after a miscarriage and I am desperately hoping this will be me. I did an ovulation test last Friday and it said I was ovulating - we'd had sex the night before and again on the Sat morning so I hope, hope, hope that something has happened! But I couldn't help myself and took a pregnancy test today which came back negative - prob too early to tell anyways but still a disappointment. Anyways, when do you think I should test again? I know you're meant to wait till you miss your period but my doctor said due to the miscarriage I might not get them for at least 6 weeks....but to wait another 2 weeks would drive me nuts although testing too early again and getting another negative would not be good either!

Thank you for your reply. I'm so sorry for your loss. Was your pregnancy without complications after your miscarriage? It's scary not knowing whether it was a one off or whether there's another one to come.
I know I shouldn't get my hopes up and I know I am putting way too much pressure on myself but it's hard because I feel like my body is failing me. I got pregnant whilst on the pill with my son and then pregnant in the first month of trying with my daughter so I just assumed that it would happen quickly and easily with every other time - boy was I wrong! I never in a million years thought I would have a miscarriage - I don't think anyone ever thinks it will happen to them.
It feels like EVERYONE around me is pregnant right now - did you notice that too when you were TTC?!

I'm in the same situation as you. 4 weeks last Thurs since d&c, my period hasnt arrived & my dr also said it could be around 6weeks before it comes back.
I'm tempted to test but i'm going to leave it another week - 10days & see what happens. I've been super tired this last week but can't sleep. I'm trying not to read too much into it though.

Thanks for your reply. I'm so sorry you're in the same boat as me, this waiting game is just horrible. Hopefully we will both have positive tests together! Although I've no symptoms. But for you hopefully being tired is a good sign of good things to come. Keep me posted!

QUOTE (little lion @ 21/04/2012, 05:56 PM) DS1979 I'm 11 wks now and so far things are going well. But I think for oat of us, after miscarriage TTC and early pregnancy will be stressful. I know what you mean about not expecting it and afterwards, I felt like my perspective changed totally and I worried if I could trust my body could do it. Slowly I'm regaining my confidence in my body, and I hope you will soon too.
Edited to remove sig 11 weeks is great and I'm glad that you are feeling more confidence in your body, means you'll be able to enjoy your journey with this baby. All the best for a healthy, stressfree and easy pregnancy for you!

DS 1979 I am sorry for your loss From memory I think my period came back about 4-5 weeks after my D&C, we didn't try for that cycle and then did with the next and very luckily I got pregnant and she's now nearly 2. FWIW I was like you, couldn't wait to get pregnant again, but petrified at the same time. I'd already had 3 sucessful, completely uneventful pregnancies, and even though several of my friends had had m/c's I was of the "well it won't happen to me" frame of mind. And then it did. I was terrified of every little twinge during that pregnancy but again I was very lucky. Hope you get your baby very soon xx

QUOTE (*mylittleprince* @ 21/04/2012, 05:59 PM) Sorry for your loss. I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks. My period took 5 weeks to return. OB advised to wait one full period before TTC. Fell pregnant next cycle and currently 13 weeks pregnant with twins! Hope you fall pregnant soon. I was a bit of a wreck until my period returned but felt better when it did (not sure if it was hormones or mental or a bit of both). Thank you, and I'm sorry for your loss too. And what an amazing gift though to be having twins this time around - that is my absolute dream! After your periods came back did you use anything to help you conceive - ovulation kits, etc? What is your secret! I had a missed miscarriage so my baby stopped growing at 6 weeks but I didn't find out until a few days before 12 weeks, and then I had a natural miscarriage. i'm torn because I want my periods to come so I know for sure my body is working ok but then I don't want it to come because then maybe (and probably just wishful thinking on my part) I might be pregnant. You are so lucky - twins! Hope you have a wonderful pregnancy this time!
