First labour was induced - ARM at 2 pm, drip went up at 4 pm, bub born at 6:30 pm.
Second labour had ten days of regularly irregular Braxton-Hicks, but no dilation. Was woken by first contraction at 12:15 am (woke up shouting 'ow ow ow' followed by hitting DH madly and yelling 'get up get up!'. Quite comical in retrospect). Had 90 min of contractions every 20 min, but not terribly painful once standing. Called hospital only because of my rapid labour with my first and was surprised when they told me to come in. Still only having contraction 20 min apart when we went in at 2:45 and was so convinced it wasn't really labour I told DH to leave everything in the car (so no camera when DS2 was born!). Was very surprised to be told I was 8 cm and this baby was being born! Got stuck a bit in second stage due to big posterior baby but he was born at 5:15 am, and my contractions only went from 1 in 20 to 1 in 5 when I started to push (and he was born 20 min later!). |

DD1 -I didn't really experience any labour pains , she was born via emergency c-section.
DS - I went into labour early hours of morning. DD2 -I went into labour after having waters broken about 1:30pm in afternoon. |

Out of the 4 births I've already had, the only one that DIDN'T start at night, was the one who was overdue and the midwife accidentally broke my waters during an exam. So she was probably ready to come along that night anyway.
I am now due anyday with #5 and will be in shock if I labour during the day, so I always wake up in the morning thinking another day gone that it hasn't happened lol |
