DD walked at about 16months. I thought that was late as she was cruising at 10months.
However DS was born when she was 14.5months, so we think she regressed as she was ready to walk. I think it took her a while to get used to another baby. My DH didn't walk until 18 months, so late walking is in the family. |

DD1 walked at 9mths
DS1 walked at 12mths DD2 walked at 15mths DS2 is not walking @ 15.5mths - will be at least a month or two or more for him DD3 is just starting to take 2-4 steps @ 15.5mths Our twins have been so interesting to watch. Our boy is known as 'Lumpy'. For so long, he was happy to just lay about and be a lump whereas his sister has never been content for that. She crawled months earlier than him and has been on the verge of walking for 2mths or so now. She is the sort of kid who won't do something until she is supremely confident in her ability - her brother doesn't care so much and I'm sort of expecting him to beat her to walking properly if she doesn't hurry up lol. On the early/late walking - speech link..... DD1 walked early and had a lot of speech issues DS1 walked "on time" and had speech issues DD2 walked a little late and only has speech issues due to hearing loss (fixed with grommets) I have found the same trend with friends' children. I'd much rather my kids walk late and have well formed speech - I am so sick of the speech therapy ride! |
