|
I have leftover silveside, carrot and peas from last night and I want to make a pie.
I saw a sign at the front of a pie shop with their special ax silverside with creamed cauliflower pie. Any ideas on how to do something like this? |

Nevermind. I just went and bought pastry, cauliflower, broccoli, and pumpkin to add to my carrot, onions and peas and I'm making a White sauce with a bit of nutmeg and pepper. Mmmmmm yum.

Enjoy your pie! Oh and remember not to add any salt to the white sauce et. al. - the silverside will be plenty salty for all. |

Omg - so going to try!!!!
I usually make a mustardy white sauce with finely diced onions in it to go w my silverside, so would have just made that for the pie gravy. |

It was yum and everyone ate it all! The white sauce turned orange from the pumpkin though.
Willow, how do you do a mustard white sauce? I was hesitant to do a white sauce for it as it is my weak point but it turned out fine. DH said after the pie, if I could have done a white sauce the night before when we originally had the silverside, but I never do as I am not confident. |
