Hi everyone,
I have a beautiful healthy 6month old baby. We have three Angels in heaven that we lost prior to our little boy being born.
I feel torn as to when we should start TTC again. I fall pregnant quickly but struggle to hold the pregnancy. I know I need to be prepared for it to happen straight away or for it to take a long time to have another baby. DH and I don't want a huge gap between kids but I also don't want to lose time with my baby by worrying about another pregnancy/loss
I guess my question is how did you know it was time to start trying again? And did your second pregnancy (after a full term pregnancy) go smoothly?
I'm not sure if this is the right spot to post so mods please move if needed
Thanks, Honey Nester

Because everyone else has one...
We had DS with no issues. I then had 2mc before this pg (23.5 weeks atm).

For us we waited 3 months after the first mc before trying again, and got pg first try. I then lost that one, so I didn't want to wait before trying again. I got pg first try again, which is this baby. If I had've known that we were going to be delayed I would've started trying 6 months earlier so that we had our baby when the first one was due.

My advice (even though my mc's were between babies) would be to start trying with the minimum gap you'd like. If you'd be happy with a 15m gap, then start trying straight away. If 18m is the minimum you'd like, then try in 3m. It may or may not happen straight away, so I'd aim for the minimum that you feel you can cope with. Obviously the baby can come early, but the difference between your first being 18m or 17m is negligible IMO.

The pain from the mc's is no easier when the child is older (DS is 4yo), so I personally wouldn't delay trying just because you didn't want a mc to affect your enjoyment with this baby. It always hurts, so hopefully you've had your bad run and you'll have no issues next time wink.gif

OP have you been tested as to why you suffered multiple losses? That might have a bearing on TTC another baby now or in a few months(if there is a medical reason ).
I PERSONALLY, am of the camp of "enjoy the baby you have now" for a while before trying again. Give your body time to recover and save some money up, make sure you've got room for another baby. All those things.
But good luck with whichever way you go original.gif
