Hi All,
my little man is now 13 1/2 months old. before his 1st birthday i started/tried the controlled crying. i stopped breast feeding at 10months due to work commitments and just became too hard so he has been bottle fed ever since. i stopped the milk over night when i did the controlled crying and it worked for 2-3 weeks. now my lil man will only get back to sleep with milk i need to stop but i cannot find a good time to do it. please any advice on how to revert back to the sleeping im struggling to function. background - he has always been a bad day sleeper did 3 day stays with trescillian and also attempted residential but got sent home (he was 7 1/2 months) reason for send home was teething - he got his first 5 teeth in one week and it just happened to be the week we were there. then i went back to work 2 weeks later so never got a chance to go back for help. dont get me wrong he has his days where he is great may only wake up once or sleep thru (very rarely). any advice will be great thanks in advance. |

Did the techniques you go told at Tressilian work the first time, and were you happy with it? If so, I would go straight back to what they told you and keep at it. Dont break the habit.
Obviously there are times when our babies are sick etc that you cant just leave them to grizzle, but I would make a conscious effort now to stop the milk. So if you need to give extra comfort, a quick cuddle until bubba is calm then laying down again, can help them get back to sleep. Stop the milk cold turkey - they don't need in the middle of the night - and offer other forms of comfort if you need to. Tressilian have an excellent free phone service and a Facebook live chat service too. I would ring them up again, get some reassurance and some more tips and go back to it. |
