3 weeks to go if we are on schedule and tonight all of a sudden the enormity of it all has just walloped me.
There are no what will I do type thoughts, nothing that constructive, just butterflies.

We are as ready as we will ever be and this is something that I have been looking forward to for years and am ready to get stuck into everything that awaits but geez it's daunting.

Just had to get it out original.gif

Honestly, some times you'll hate it, but it's the most amazing thing you can do! They reach in to your chest with their teeny tiny hands and grab your heart and never let go!

As a father of 2 I know where you're coming from.

With the first (DS) I had no clue what to expect or what to do or how I would cope, even after seeing my siblings start their families.

When DD arrived 5 years later, the same feelings came up!

My advice would be just get in and go with the flow. Baby will soon train you!!

All the best and enjoy the fantastic, thrilling, scary, rewarding ride that is fatherhood!

Yep you can't prepare, but it just happens to you!!

I'm expecting #2 in 4 weeks and have just reached the same stage as you biggrin.gif

Freaking out big time and I have already survived it once!! happy.gif

As everyone else has said, it will all just happen - and when I demanded advice from my lovely mum re DS, she just calmly replied that she couldn't tell me anything (despite having had 4 children), that I would come home from the hospital, the baby would start crying at some stage and I would make a choice about feeding it, leaving it, rocking it and so on and once that first decision was made, I would be off! Sounds weird and unhelpful, but she was right!!

Good luck - and for god's sake, for the next 3 weeks SLEEP IN every single day!!!

Thanks for all the advice guys and girls.
Had our 37 week Ob appointment today and everything is all good, we have had pretty quick visits the whole way through.
Still nervous but so excited to get to meet my daughter whenever it is she decides to turn up.
