So once again he has been charged with drug possession, seemingly hasn't learnt his lesson after being found with drugs up his backside after getting of a plane.

Coming from a family with a high incidence of drug and alcohol abuse, I think the media should leave him alone to sort out his problem.

Yes, I agree With nicknok, I just feel sorry for him. It must be a terrible thing to have an uncontrolled addiction, for both the addict and the family.

It's not about 'learning his lesson' it's about curing an addiction. And I am no Ben Cousins fan either.

Addiction is an awful thing, I don't think it is as simple as learning a "lesson"

If everyone in the world with an addiction had" learnt their lesson after being caught", we wouldn't have a drug problem like we do.
It drives me insane that this guy can't battle his demons without being hounded by the media. Yes I know he was a high-profile sportsman, but he's still just a bloke with a problem. And before anyone says 'but he was a role model', look at Chris Mainwaring - he died of a drug overdose and now they have an honourary match in his name. How is society meant to deal with the drug problems out there as long as there are double standards for user and not another.

I can't even begin to imagine the heartache addiction of any form must cause a person and their family, let alone having to deal with it publicly.

Yes he broke the law, however I get the feeling the police are targeting him. He is an addict and is being kicked while down. He was on the way to a rehab facility last time.

Drug addiction has nothing to do with intelligence. Don't ever underestimate the pure hell that is drug addiction. Can you imagine KNOWING that you have to not do this, the drugs, but have your mind and willpower betray you? Let down your family, yet again? Your partner, your child?
Drug addiction is far more than just doing a drug. I hope Ben fights. I hope he wins.

I hope he gets the help he needs before drugs take him. I feel for his family especially since it is always so public.
