I have this and it's awesome - http://www.kenwoodworld.com/en-au/Products.../Hand-Blender3/
Got it the christmas before last and use it for blending and some food processing anyway, and have just started using it for purees for DS and it's perfect It also has a masher attachment, and the mashed potato you get from it is silky smooth |

However get one if you will use it for other things but not if you are only going to puree for baby as pps said it is a short stage and some babies like dd2 and ds skipped that stage (baby led weaning) |

I have one of these. At $59 I have well and truly had my moneys worth. I love how little washing up there is with it. I puree directly in the saucepan/pot that I have done the cooking in. We use it for making tomato soup and pumpkin soup as well, not just for baby food.

Well I wont be buying a thermomix anytime soon although they do sound grand. Sounds like a stick blender is the way to go. Think I'll give this a try.
http://www.lasoo.com.au/offer/bellini-stic...ource=catalogue With DD, blending all her foods stage didn't last that long. But even when she could handle chunky solids, she would still have puree pouches like rafferty gardens etc. I intend to do my own pouches as I can buy new empty pouches and fill them with my own mixes - but the mixes need to be very smooth otherwise they're difficult to fill. With DD she would still have these until around 2ish and was a great way to get veges into her. I rarely get out my food processor as it's so big and bulky. If the hand mixer is a good unit I like the sound of pureeing soups in the saucepan itself. Cheers for your thoughts everyone. This post has been edited by beebs09: 18/04/2012, 04:07 PM |
