Not enough. I visited my previous local library all of three times in the seven years I was there. It was regularly closed though and was smaller than my loungeroom, so range was rather narrow.

I havent checked out the new one yet, but should do so soon, thanks for the reminder.

P's mother is a grammar school librarian and we have been lucky enough to receive some of their older stock as they renew, the latest being a full set of world book encyclopaediae (wooohoooo!) original.gif

Never. The kids walk up to the local one when they have assignments and can't find what they want on the internet. I normally just buy a book if I like it, or I just buy cheap ones on the specials tables. Probably explains why DH hates the books that are everywhere as we don't have a huge shelf.

I used to go to rhyme time twice a week. The librarian who ran it is absolutely fantastic, and kids LOVE her.

But it had become a victim of its own success. Now it is just too crowded and busy. I arrive early-ish to get a spot, and you can guarantee that ten minutes after the starting time some late comer will plonk themselves down practically on top of me because there is no space left anywhere else.

I can't stand it. They sit so close in front of me I can't straighten my legs, and my two year old DD has nowhere to stand to do the movements / dance etc.

And let's not forget the group of Mums with older kids who send the kids up the front and then use the opportunity to sit up the back and have a good old chinwag at the tops of their voices, with complete disregard to the librarian trying to sing over the top of them. They don't responds to shushing either. Selfish biatches that they are.

So I had to stop going. The last time I went I left half way through in a big huff after a lady nearly sat on top of me. And I swore I'd never go back to rhyme time anyway. I go back regularly to borrow audio books. They have a fantastic selection for children.

I go at least once a fortnight. My local is amazing, every book and magazine you can think of as well as DVD's. You can anything for two weeks and they are so lenient abotut extensions. I often have books late and NO LATE fees, just bring them back whenever and they reset your card and they don't make you feel bad. It really is an amazing service and to think years ago I used to buy all my books/mags! They also let you reserve any title, they will get it to your local library and send you a text to collect. I am so impressed with my library (can you tell original.gif)

About every 3 weeks when I get an email saying we need to return books original.gif Sometimes sooner if we've gone through them all earlier though.

when we lived within walking distance, 1-2 times a week. But now? Lucky if I go once every few months. Not as convenient to get to.

Mine is within walkin distance too.
During term time we go once a week for story time. Out of term time, rarely.

I do love the library and read constantly. I am also very good at reading borrowed (from family and friends) books without damagaing them and as such I always have a mountain of borrowed books to read.
