Baby Bjorn - when can he go on the back?

Hi - we were lucky to be given a Baby Bjorn, but as we don't have instructions, my question is when can my son go on the back? He is now 7 mo. Thanks

Never! It's a front only carrier. Have a look at the baby bjorn website, you should find everything you need. If you want a front and back carrier try an ergo or manduca, they are also much more comfortable. Baby Bjorns are most useful for 0-6 months.

You can put him in the BabyBjorn forward facing, but the carrier would still be on your front. As PP said, it is not designed for carrying on your back. If facing baby towards the front, you fold the top of it down and button it at the sides. The instructions on the web site are very good.

I totally recommend back carrying. We use the Ergo and I can carry DD (nearly 10 months) on my back for a lot longer and it’s much more comfortable. I know the BB isn’t possible to back carry. We were advised not to use the baby bjorn because DD has DDH so I recommend reading the links above and buy a new carrier like the ergo.
