Hiya,

does anyone have any insight into this? I know dreams dont always mean the obvious so maybe it means something different.

So last night I had a dream that I was pregnant, I would guess that I was about 5 months pregnant. the rest of the dream was not very important. But the being pregnant part freaked me out.

This is not the first time this has happened. A couple of times recently I have woken up feeling like I was dreaming about being pregnant - one time I even woke up rubbing my belly.

the thing is that I am not trying or planning to get pregnant. My husband and I are adopting and have been in the process for a long time, since Oct 2008.
our file has been in Thailand for over 20 months and we are fully committed to this process and becoming parents via adoption. It has always been our first choice.

So, what do you think? Are my dreams warning me that I need to be more careful with contraception? or are they saying something else?

Any insight would be helpful.

I've dreamt about being pregnant countless times in my 40 years... I am and remain childless.

Last night my DP dreamt he was riding a hyena - I am not saving up for a hyena saddle because of this..!

Dreams are just your brain's filing system... don't make concrete decisions due to dream thoughts.

thanks. I am not sure what kind of decisions you think I am going to make? . Like I said above I never want to get pregnant and we are fully committed to our adoption.

I am just asking those who have some crystal ball insight powers to share with me if they think my dreams are telling me something, maybe about our adoption.

I dont know what it means but for the last 6 months every week I have dreamt about being pregnant and birthing a baby it's either a single child or twins.
I'm not pregnant but dreams are your subconcious either filling in the blanks or of you thinking about things that have been on your mind.
Not sure what dreams can translate to in other ways though

Perhaps your subconscious mind is working to accept that you are not going to experience pregnancy with this little one? Alternatively it could be more representative of a new beginning or phase of your life? I think dream interpretation is really individual.

I dont know how to make it clearer. We are adopting. have always been adopting. It is not our second choice but our first choice.

hence the dreams are weird and freaking me out. I have never wanted to be pregnant or tried to become pregnant. Not everybody adopting had tried to be pregnant first and is dissapointed that they cant.

If I became pregnant I would be upset. That is why these dreams are upsetting me.
Why are they suddenly happening? Why have I had not just one but several? Could they mean something else?

I am hoping that the dreams are in someway related to our adoption because we are desperate for positive news there.

I was told once pregnancy dreams just mean you are about to experience a new start or beginning with something, certainly true for me, I had a lot of them when I was about to move states and change jobs.
