I think I've been thinking about names for the last five years, even with no intention of having another child back then!

I LOVE the name Micah (boy) but I just can't see myself with a child with that name. Does that make sense?

I LOVE the name Oliver. We always wanted our son to be called Oliver, however we got a dog before we had kids and called him Oliver/Ollie. Our dog passed away a few months ago. It would be too weird to re-use the name, wouldn't it? Or would it???

I love so many girls names that it is almost impossible for me to choose one that I love more than the other! Emily, Olivia, Ava, Mia, Lila. I also love Millie, but not Amelia - those types of names!

Ha ha I know what you mean. I really like the name Luca and other names but I cant see myself with a child with that name.

I really like Chloe as a name but thats my dogs name so I wouldnt re-use it but if might be different if she passed. Im very determined once ive made my mind up I like something thats it ha ha if I really liked it I wouldnt care but thats just me.

Millie is really cute. My sons name is traditionally a nickname but thats his real name, we sometimes use the formal version for a laugh because my son is so not regal and formal.

We have a girls name that we both like and agree on...this week anyway.

I had another girl's name that i loved...until i recently found out my ex has called his daughter that. b*st*rd!

I also LOVE Luka/Luca but DP is a bit conservative/old fashioned and it would never pass muster with him :-(

But we're not really talking about it yet.

I think we will be sticking with our traditional first name and more modern second name combo. I have a girls name stuck in my head and a few boys names that I like and might have to convince DH. He suggested Olaf for a boy

Our DS is Luka! I love it but DH and I like names that aren't really common although I think it's gaining ground there now. It definitely wasn't when he was born!

We already have a girls name picked which we had before we had the m/c but boys names we're really stuck! I think because we love Luka so much we're struggling to find another boys name that we like as much and isn't really popular!!

It's such a hard decision. Another reason we'll be finding out the sex! Because if it's a girl we won't need to think about it anymore!!

Ohhh Luca - I didn't mention that either. I LOVE it. Would be definitely in my top 3 names (which I guess are Oliver, Micah, Luca). I don't think I'd like Micah shortened to Mike though.

What do you others think about calling a child the same name as a previous pet? (Not naming a child in memory of the dog, but the fact that the dog stole the name first!)

A girl is looking very likely to be Isabel Ivy. Boy, not so set on the first name, but I like Alexander or Xavier and the middle name will be phillip after Dh brother who passed away.

I wouldn't worry about the pet thing. My nanna had a cat called Suzy when I was born, but I was named Suzanne for a completely different reason. I have no memories of that cat, and neither does anyone else anymore, so it's all good. (Sorry, Suzycat!)

I'm Suzy, DP is Andy.
DS1, aged 18, is Christopher Andrew, after his Dad and my friend Chris.
DS2 (born sleeping in 2009) was named John Cecil, after my late father John, and my 2 late Grandfathers, both called Cecil.

DP likes Jessica or Justin for this one. I suggested Jessica Clare, after his mother Clare. I haven't got a middle name for a Justin yet, but I'm considering Oliver, Michael or David. (family names.)

Will go for unusual names once we run out of family names, but there were a lot of them!
