At a dating scan at 15 weeks, one of my twins was 8 days behind. At 20 weeks, he was 14 days behind. His umbilical cord was velamentous, so he wasn't getting enough blood flow. We had lots more u/s and CTGs, and they were born at 30 weeks. He was 890gms, his identical twin was 1490gms.
They are 3 now and he is so healthy and smart. I KNOW he is doing what he is supposed to as I have his identical twin to compare him to and he completely keeps up. He is smaller, but has gone from not not even on the charts to 25-50%. I hope you have a similiar happy ending, I remember all too well how scary the unknown can be. |

My friend's baby apparently did not grow at all between 5 and 6 months which raised a flag for her OB. She was very worried, so went on mat leave early (she was also running after a very active 18month old DS). By the time the baby was born it had 'caught up'. Try not to worry too much just yet. I think they grow in fits and spurts in utero just like they do throughout childhood.
