One of my secretaries was called clover & she would have been in her 40's.

Very lovely, softly spoken lady & the name suited her to a tea!

Clover is a lovely old fashioned name. The sister in the What Katy Did books was named Clover (from the 1800's).

I know a Charissa, and she gets all the cow jokes behind her back too. shrug.gif

I think of Clover Moore - Lord Mayor of Sydney and state member for Sydney. Not a huge fan of the name, but I don't think it's terrible.

Too hot to be a feminist
I think it's quite sweet. I don't think it works on an older woman as well as a little girl though.

Personally, not a name I would choose...mentally I think Clover the cow, but it's the not the worst. Anyway I have a daughter called Lucy which is a popular cat/dog name

Same, I straight away thought of Sydney's Lord Mayor... here's a photo of her...

I'm not a fan of the name only because it always reminds me of her.

It is however a very cute name though.

To me cow names are Bessie and Clara/Clarabelle.

Clover isn't my favourite of botanical/nature names but its perky and cute. It's funny, though, PP said a "sweet, soft-spoken" woman suited it, and when I picture a girl named Clover I picture a pigtailed little fireball. It's just a very spritely, active name, or so it sounds in my head, compared to say Daisy or Lily or other flower names.
