Arghhh.. Why have I only just found out that BookDepository have all the measurements available for different copies of the books!! I wish I had known this a few weeks ago so I could buy the versions that line up properly on my bookshelf with the rest of the series!! Argh!!!
Please tell me I'm not the only one who is particular about having books match up!! |

I'm with you. I line up all my books in order of size. It looks messy otherwise
Now, if only I could get all the books lined up in size and colour of the spines to match ... |

When I'm collecting a series of books, I like them to look like they belong together and have matching covers etc. I put books like that together (obviously!) and any stand alone books that don't belong anywhere else, I arrange by height.
But I have to say, I can't stand trade paperbacks! When I'm anxious for a new book it's a hard choice between having the new book now or waiting for it to come out in normal paperback so it matches. Oh, and I also hate when you're halfway through collecting a series and they change cover designs so the new ones don't match the old ones. Hmm, I could be a little OCD... |

| How grand it must be, to be the chosen one... | |

There is an EBer who posted a photo of her bookshelf - it was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen - maybe she can come back and post it again?????
As for me, I just like books, I am not too fussy about height, but if it is a series I prefer them to match. I must be too slow collecting them though because my Sookie Stackhouse books have at least 3 different covers and so do my Jodi Picoults. I will pretend that it adds character... |

Where are these measurements on book depository that you speak of?!?! I recently bought an entire series of books and the LAST book came in a smaller size, I was slightly devastated.
ETA: Just found it. Wow, very useful. This post has been edited by tick: 13/04/2012, 09:20 AM |

I think I recall publishers Often have a common size. Maybe try linking books by by publisher?

I read the Sue Grafton Alphabet series(one book for each letter) and up to the letter U there are I think 3 different style covers(and slight size differences). The same with the Lindsey Davies "Falco" mysteries. They have VERY differnt styles, it's annoying. I think some authors change publishers part way through which doesn't help.
But the Susie Stackhouse novels are annoying too lol. |
